'04 Stang Goes Down...

HeHe...

My car is actually very stealthy... (Not much of a lope to the cam at all)

No one ever expects what's awaiting them...

It's an all white camaro LT1 (looks like a 6 banger from a distance)... lot's of guys/gals think it's easy prey...

Sorry but this camaro is just a very, very streetable 383 LT1 stroker ...

Had the guy in the Stang by way too many cars to count...

Even though it's not much of a race at all when a stocker comes looking for some fun, it still puts a huge smile on my face....

I guess that's why we put down the $$$ to play... It's all about fun and games... We all get our kicks in different ways...

Take care all...

lol...I used to play that game.
My '95 made just under 400rwhp and over 430rwtq. It was running 12.0's at 119mph on a set of 17" DR's on stock wheels. Stock catback, stock cam, stock suspension, stock wheels, stock tranny, no gauges. It had a 10psi Kenne Bell and a set of E-bock heads on it. The blower was virtually silent.
I really had some fun when the car was like that. Sleepers are a blast.

He pulled it out of his a** like always. :D Blown 99+ Stangs can put out 400ish rwhp with a good intercooled blower kit and a few other very minor bolt ons. They also weigh less than an LT1.

Steve,
I don't currently have an intercooler on my car and am pushing almost 460rwhp through the automatic so I know it can be done thus why I'm asking Antz where he's getting this info from. By the way, nice big intercooler (http://tealnet.com/ipw-web/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=895&sort=1&cat=500&page=1) that will go on the car along with the fuel system upgrade (braided line from tank to rail, bigger rails, injectors, maf, etc).

Antz is spouting bs as usual. Hey, will the 3.73 gears I am about to install make my car vibrate more at high speeds?

Changing the gear ratios should not make your car vibrate more. If you're concerned about vibration, switch to an aluminum driveshaft.

here we go again. this section of the board is turning into a real "sleeper" as well. give it a rest, guys. this dead horse is starting to really stink.

TDog,
Didn't mean to hijack your thread. It just gets a little irritating when someone is talking about something they have no experience with is all. As I said previously, nice kill and nice sleeper!

How does an aluminum driveshaft help with vibration? Also how long is the normal break in of new gears and bearings in the rear until I can race the car? I've heard 500 miles and two heat up and cool down cycles which is only about 75 miles total. Which is correct? Do the auto manufacturers break in the rear before they sell cars to us?

An aluminum DS will often lower vibration due to it's higher critical speed. The closer you are to critical speed, the greater the tendency to introduce vibration. Oh, critical speed is the rpm where the DS will tend to destroy itself due to vibration. Factors are DS diameter, length, materials.

AFAIK, mfrs don't break in the ring & pinion... we generally do that simply by the easy driving that MOST people do when they get a new car.

As nuke said, just follow your ring & pinion manufacturers recommendations. Always a good idea with anything.
