JeremyKweens 09-21-2004, 02:21 PM Well........I'm going to hit up the local track this weekend for the last street legal event. Ive been running a 100 shot for a year now and the car is doing great, but I think I want to step it up a notch. I have 2.5 gallons of VP motorsports 103 to use and I will mix it with 92 octane gas and maybe a NOS octane booster that I have kicking around.
As for timing, I wont be retarding it at all. I've read alot about guys running 150s on stock timing.
so what do you guys think.........should I go for it??
roguedriver 09-21-2004, 04:43 PM Run the VP but leave the octane booster at home. I'd be a little iffy running a full 150 with no timing retard. If you have the ability to retard it before going out, I would. At least 4 deg. or so. Hope you have at least drag radials or ET streets or have fun laying down the rubber. Hehe. Good luck.

mrr23 09-21-2004, 05:30 PM no you shouldn't. you should do 200 like me. i do not do any timing retard either. and i run 93 octane only.
JeremyKweens 09-21-2004, 08:54 PM I do infact have ET streets.........thank god.
I think Im gonna go for it......a guy only lives once :D
Fuels94TA 09-21-2004, 08:59 PM Go ahead and do it. the 103 will be just fine, dont mix the booster in. A overkill on the fuel. As for retard the 103 will help a little.
TQdrivenws6 09-21-2004, 09:22 PM ....a guy only lives once :D
Much less his motor :D
JeremyKweens 09-23-2004, 12:10 PM I think the Ol LT1 can handle a couple passes with the 150 shot. If not...........383 here we come.
RacinLT1 09-23-2004, 04:22 PM i have run 150 and 175 on my LT1. the 150 i didnt pull timing and ran it a few times on pump gas, most of the time 100-104 unleaded.
The 175 i pulled 2* and ran the same unleaded, never had a problem.
JeremyKweens 09-23-2004, 09:28 PM The only thing im worried about is the fuel pump...........but, it should be ok. Just got it tested a month ago and pressure was bang on.
1995CamaroZ28 09-24-2004, 03:28 AM your stock fuel pump should handle up to 450 hp..
SDAKOVIC 09-24-2004, 08:14 AM Go for it. :metal:
kirschman 09-24-2004, 03:54 PM Do it!! I was running the 100 shot and ran 8.04 in the 1/8 with just CAI,4.10's and a flowmaster muff. (drag radials also). Put the 150 in and went consistent(sp?) 7.85@92mph. It would spin bad, with that mph if i could have got traction the runs should of been 7.30's or so.(i think??) Anyways, i prob. ran 20 bottles through it with no probs at all. By the way, i didnt pull any timing, pcmforless programming
JeremyKweens 09-26-2004, 11:41 PM Well.........I went for it. Car took it NP, but mister clutch had something else to say about that. The car smoked the clutch all the way down the track while I was on and off the gas going "wtf?????" to myself, lol. I even tried the 100 shot after and it just slipped and slipped and slipped.........ya, you get the point.
spec stage 3 here I come..............
ill get that 11 sec timeslip yet.
roadtrip120 09-27-2004, 12:12 AM Im on a 150 shot with advanced timing, but i have 109 VP in my nitrous stand alone fuel system.
No problems here, I'll let ya know how the 200 hold up.
TriPinTaZ 09-27-2004, 12:33 AM your stock fuel pump should handle up to 450 hp..
your joking right ?
92rslt1 10-01-2004, 07:32 PM your joking right ?
it will, its been done quit a few times.
Sunsceamer 10-05-2004, 07:20 PM Times in sig with stock fuel pump that had ran out of gas many times. Stock pump well depends on condition of pump. I say 150 all the way.
