I just put a new battery into my 1980 Z28. When I turn the key to start the car, nothing happens. I get electric in the car....(lights work), but the engine won't even make the "click click" noise or anything, just...silence.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So the key is moving all the way forward, and it won't turn over at all? Try cleaning the terminals and the battery, and make sure everything is tightly connected.
If that doesn't work, your starter is probably gone.

I will try that, but if I am getting power to my lights....wouldn't the terminals be fine?
When I had the old, dead battery in the car, it would make the "click click" sound when I turned the key all the way forward....but not with the new battery which I find odd.

try looking at the frame ground from the battery or the engine ground at the back of the block to the firewall

If the terminals are just a little dirty, you may still get enough current to work your lights etc, but not enough juice to turn the starter.. it's happend to me.
To test your starter, you can run a wire from the battery directly to the starter and see if that works... (I've done this by making a cut in the wire running to the starter, and ran a jumper cable from the postive terminal...touching it against the cut in the wire when I was ready to see if it would start) make sure you have the key turned forward while you do it. Oh, and the car should be in park.. just incase.
