Well, I did it. Had to detune the car (reduce timing, plug vacuum advance), but passed with flying colours. Good for another year.
Now I just need to do the back brakes (need new drums, current ones are dead).
A long list of to do's, but nothing major.

also are you replacing the whole drum? or just the shoes... I might be able to get you a deal.

Ok grant, i surfed my computer at work and these are the prices i can do for you
-Brake Drum x2 = $15.68
-Brake ling/fric, Rear x1 = $36.07 New
-Brake ling/fric, Rear x1 = $29.92 Imported *only difference is the brand*
-Brake, Wheel Cylinder x2 = $6.52
-Brake Combi Kit (axle) x1 = $2.86

That would be DV Aldous ;) .They are pretty cheap but there is cheaper.

Wow, that is cheap. Where do you work? I was going to try and find some aluminum drums that still had some meat on them. But so far I haven't had much luck. So I think I'll end up going this route.
