changing rear calipers?CrAkD X 95TA 09-16-2004, 08:00 AM ive never attempted changing a caliper but I cant afford another $800 install. You have to pinch the main brake line for the back you can get that at the auto parts store. That way you don't lose all your fluid. Put your clalper's on. Then take the tool off and crack the bleader's check you fluid leve let some fluid out close theme off. Then have somebody help pump the brake and bleed them and it's all good :) Onley pain you might have is with the brake cable it is a pain but can be done. Just wear some gloves cuz it likes to take skin off  Yea and I would get the clapers from Autozone because they come with the parking brake cable thing on them. Good luck. Chris G. :) SloTexanTA 09-16-2004, 01:24 PM It's not too difficult, just follow what he said :D . The only thing I would add is to bleed all of the brakes and replace the fluid while you're at it (and remember that you have a long line running to the rear brakes, so it can take a couple tries to bleed them completely). I don't know how old your brake fluid is, but it's always a good idea to replace your brake fluid every once in a while, and now is as good of time as any ;) . I replaced mine when I replaced my rear calipers and it made a remarkable difference, and my fluid was only a little over a year old :) . Tom CrAkD X 95TA 09-16-2004, 01:36 PM So i need a replacement main line to the back? crazypurgatory 09-16-2004, 11:17 PM No what he was saying was if you had an air pocket in the line. If you let the master cylinder run dry then you will have air in the line and it would take a long time to bleed it out because the line that runs to the rear brakes is the longest line in the car. Chris G. no i mean what you said about pinching the main brake line to the back. im not to familiar with the term i didnt know if i pinched the line to stop the fluid from leaking out would i have to replace it. crazypurgatory 09-17-2004, 07:16 PM My bad you are going to jack up the rear end and take the tires off. When you do that you will see the rubber brake hose. That is where you will pinch it so you cut off the brake fluid so you don't loose it all. make sure you tell them at the auto parts store that when you get the tool to do that because if you use a locking plyers you can damage the line. Got it? If not let me know Chris G. :) :) CrAkD X 95TA 09-18-2004, 08:14 AM My bad you are going to jack up the rear end and take the tires off. When you do that you will see the rubber brake hose.
