i bought an a1000 areomotive pump for my future turbo setup. shooting for 650-700hp. the pump has a -10AN in and out. so i plan on running that up to the front.

whats a good regulator to use? i've heard the areomotives are junk.
i want it to accept the -10AN fitting, and my fuel rails have -8AN's on the ends.

do i need it to be boost referenced as well?

thanks,
mike

I read that the old style aeromotive fpr's suck but the newer style ones are okay. Any truth to that?

I bought an aeromotiv for a year ago, when i tried to run it at stock fp and it was useless, it never reduced the pressure enough at idel and highway driving. When i rised the pressure to 50 (no vacuum) it worked OK, then i noticed that it leaked fuel, every seal looks alright...
I removed the aeromotive and now i have my stock reulator again, works perfect since i got my new 60ftlb injectors.... The reason i bought the new FPR was that my 42lbsft was to small...
I dont think you need an 10 on the return line..
My suggestion is that you try the stock regulator and see if it can keep the pressure down... I belive that you can use the stock pressure line for return...

My stock fuelsystem widh a walboro 255 workes greate for my 600rwhp... Pushes 60 psi widh full boost...

I had the old st le Aeromotive on mine and it went bad. I replaced it with the new style and I have not had any problems. You can tell that the new style is a much better regulator. I would go with the new Aeromotive. Also, the new style has a port in the back to use for another line or in my case, to install the sensor for the fuel pressure gauge.

I have a paxton, this was before aeromotive was around I believe. It is basically the same design. Been running it for about 6 years. No problems at all, it has worked great.

I picked up a new Magnaflow adj. regulator to replace my leaking Aeromotive unit and it is spot on for boost referance.

you know, i was checking out those magnaflows in jeg's i was curious if anyone was running them! which one did you get? how much flow does it support? i wasn't sure if i'd need the bigger one or not, one is $130 and the other is like 230. so i was hoping the smaller one would do the trick!

otherwise i'm thinking of using the aeromotive.

I have been running the new aeromotive for about 6 months with no problems.

Sorry it's Magnafuel, was reading an exhaust post right before I replied. They say the small one (which I have) will support 700hp and the biggie will handle 2000hp. I was going to go with the big one but they said that the ratings are "easy" and the small one would keep up with 42's and two 255lph's no problem. The big one is more for strip/alcohol and mine is on the street all of the time.
