Spraying out of the hole question...94-3.4 09-14-2004, 10:22 PM Would it be advisable to spray an A4 with a 100 shot out of the hole WITH OUT a window switch? I am just a little concerned since i launch from an idle. 94Z28rag 09-14-2004, 10:34 PM My friend has the ZEX wet kit on his LT1 automatic Formula and he sprays a 125 shot off the line, its on a WOT switch and he just mashes it with DRs and goes. He hasnt had a problem yet, and he has no safety stuff. Fuels94TA 09-14-2004, 11:36 PM I've have all the time, even took it up to 150 shot. But it wont work to well unless you have traction to back it up. Sunsceamer 09-16-2004, 06:51 PM What RPM will your 3.4 hold at the line before you let go of the brake? kirschman 09-16-2004, 11:44 PM I was running a 150 shot wot switch, window switch (on-3k off-6k). I dump the clutch at bout 5 to 55k WITHOUT going to WOT, then, bout 10ft. out if its hooking, i nail it. Works good for me so far. A couple of times i got some bad wheel hop bout at the 60ft. mark but the BMR lca's fixed that. I had a few mid 1.7's. Not bad for a stock motor with just bolt ons and a 150 shot, i think. 94-3.4 09-17-2004, 12:49 AM It is a lt1, did a swap a few years back from the 3.4. Derrick Redd 09-17-2004, 04:26 AM I hit mine WOT from idle. I do have a 3,600 stall that flashes to 4k on the dope though. :D Do you have a large stall? I wouldn't spray from idle with a stock torque converter. JMO. 94-3.4 09-17-2004, 10:00 AM I have a 2800 yank, i would say it flashes 2400 or so n/a so maybe it will flash higher on the nitrous. BIGBADBOWTIE 09-17-2004, 12:53 PM I hit mine WOT from idle. I do have a 3,600 stall that flashes to 4k on the dope though. :D Do you have a large stall? I wouldn't spray from idle with a stock torque converter. JMO. Just an FYI Derrick, I run a 9" 3500 stall that flashes to about 4200 on the bottle(125). I usually try and get up on the converter a little when making a nitrous pass. A few weeks back I had a bad case of brainfart-itis and did nt get on the converter and basicly nail it from Idle...... BOOM!! The car hickuped, bucked a few times and made a nice flame show. The boom was big enough that it took one of the butterfly (850 holley) screws and almost put it clean through the top of my airfilter assembly. Lots of damage.. long story short....but be careful...it was not a cheap fix. Sunsceamer 09-17-2004, 05:42 PM Maybe try a low shot like 50 at 2500 will be safe see how the convertor handles it. Do a night or 2 off test and tunes with this. Best thing to do is get use to it so than you can glance at the tack and see what it can do. Than up to 75 test a while and if it likes it you could go to 100. I just dont recomend 150 below 3 thousand. Some old schoolers claim not below 3500 because it is a hell of alot of spray per cylnder at low RPM. I wouldnt go more than 100 rwhp at 2400. You could do a 2 stage. n20ta2 09-19-2004, 11:57 PM im spraying a 250 shot off the line,I have a 3500 stall and a transbrake so i stall to about 4000 actual rpm against the 'brake.Im also running a celonoid that inturupts the nitrous when the transbrake is activated so I can hold the steering wheel nitrous button down and when the trans brake is released it starts spraying immediatly.Im running some big rear tires though 28x12.50 e/t streets on draglights. 95zzz28 09-20-2004, 02:38 PM i plan on spraying of the line w/wot switch. i am only going to spray a 100 though. i am going to feather it for a little bit and then romp on it. mrr23 09-20-2004, 10:04 PM this is how i do mine. i use a WOT switch. i launch the power (arming switch) off. then at 2k rpm, i turn on the power. then at the end of the run, or if i spin, i just let off the pedal and the WOT switch cuts power to the solenoids. cheap window switch if i ever saw one. JucinGTA 09-21-2004, 12:34 PM I spray 200 out of the hole. Trans setup is a 3400 stall, 10 bolt 3.73 Heres a pic. http://www.ugsr.com/upload/showthread.php?s=&threadid=268&perpage=12&pagenumber=3 kostya_f 09-23-2004, 04:28 PM A window switch would be good insurance in case your transmission decides not to shift. 94-3.4 09-27-2004, 01:20 AM Sprayed the TNT 100 shot friday night to much success. 12.2 @ 111 mph with a 1.69 sixty foot. Very very happy, this was at Bandimere in Denver so could convert to a low 11 at sea level. My rearend sure didn't like it though, whines pretty bad now  | ||
