M6 Burnout Question

Do you guys do you burnouts in 1st or 2nd? I haven't got the guts to dump it with the 4.11's yet, im just worried about breaking something :rolleyes: , but I imagine I'll hit the rev limiter instantly. I've heard of people just dumping it in 2nd instead, anyone do that? Is it any harder on the car because of the numerically 2nd gear ratio? This is on street tires, btw.

With 4.11's you should have no problem at all with 2nd gear.

2nd gear burnout is harder on the clutch but puts heat into the tires quicker.

1st gear does just fine IMO. Doesn't take long at all to get the tires smoking in 1st, even with 4.11's.

Since I have a ten bolt I just "clean 'em off" with a quick 1st gear spin at the track, fwiw.

If you have the appropriate tires and a good water box second gear is what to use... Moving to the drag racing forum.
