New Blower/N2O times from the Impala

Well, I went to Lubbock Dragway last night with the Impala. The density altitude started at 4890 and dropped to 4750ish. I am very happy with my cars performance. I was hoping to get an 11.2 out of it tonight, and it ran 11.13 @ 125.47 (backed up with an 11.14 @ 125.62). All 3 of my passes were made with the car on the rev limiter for the last 150 feet. I guess I need taller tires. or lower (numerically) gears.


It wasn't hooking very well either. My 2 best 60fts were 1.699 and 1.729. I was expecting a good .1 or more better out of the hole, but the MT radials just wouldn't dead hook. I guess its time for some more regular et streets, but taller than the last time. The new intake pipe and headers were really helping midtrack performance, as I was getting 99.6s and 99.7mphs at the 1/8th

I wish It only weighted 2 tons, LOL. With the added weight of the stereo, blower, nitrous, and my 370 lb butt, it is much closer to 4700. I did take the front swaybar off, so thats a plus.

I am not a firm believer in the corrections for elevation being all that accurate. I know it would be faster, as I ran it in east texas this summer and picked up .4 seconds without spray, and that was still in nasty early july air. The correction factors say it would be 10.45@133, but I think it would be closer to 10.7-10.8ish.

either way, it's moving nicely. I'm trying to leave mine stock, but struggling to say the least. I've got a '94 Formula with a T76 and I haven't driven that in 2 years. just haven't finished it... Really should get on that, but I want to build something else. I'm getting ichy...
