'81 Z28 w/ Built 388 stroker FS or Trade
I am gauging interest is selling or trading off my '81 Z28 for a newer one. Here are most of the details about the car :
388 Stroker :
4 bolt main block race prepped
Scat steel stroker crank
Eagle H-beam rods
JE/SRP flat top pistons ( 11.45 c/r figured)
.525/.540 (w/ 1.6 rockers) lift cam with 308/318 dur.
1.6 Harland Sharps roller rockers with .150 offset
Canfield 220 cc heads with 65cc combustion chambers
2.055/1.60 valves
7/16 ARP rocker studs
Weiand Team G Intake with the raised plenum and port matched
Demon 850 cfm annular discharge carb
1 5/8 headers
Flowmaster 40 series dual exhaust
electric fan
new radiator
HEI dist. w/ Accel super coil
TH350 trans built very well by a reputable shop
3500 stall converter
Lakewood traction bars
There is over $8000 in the engine and tranny alone ! The car itself is by no means a show winner. The interior has been stripped and there is a couple of holes in the floorboard and some rust on the body. Before I put the Canfields on the car went 12.99 @ 105 with a set of plain Jane S/R torker heads, 1.5 rockers, single track rear end, stock gears and 8 year old street tires. Managed 1.89 60' times. I could have done better if i had the vacuum res. hooked up for the brakes. I couldnt raise the rpm's enough without the car wanting to creep forward
(it's hooked up now though !) I have not made it back to the track yet to run it with the new heads and set up on there. I also have a set of Richmond 3.73 gears to go with it.
This is what I want (idealy).
'95 Z28 Black with cloth interior, Automatic tranny, and T-tops. Now I may consider '93 - '97 Z28 any color and hard top but it has to be an automatic and the better the body and interior the more interested I would be. If the engine and/or trans need a little work, that would be no problem.
If anyone is interested shoot me an e-mail and if you want I can give you my phone # too.
