Cooling fans not coming on HELP!

My sons 99 Camaro, 3.8, threw a P0480 (Cooling Fan 1 Control Circuit) and P0481 (Cooling Fan 2 Control Circuit) codes today. The cooling fans are not coming on even when the AC is turned on. The temp is only going to 210 right now. Any ideas what might be happening?

Thanks

Have you looked at fuses under the hood?

Re: Cooling fans not coming on HELP!

Yea, I just found the 40 amp fan fuse blown. I didn't know that it was there because the writing on the fuse box cover was smeared. After replacing it I noticed the the drivers side fan was spining real slow (like you could count the revolutions slow). Could the fan motor be failing, causing the fuse to blow? The new one hasen't blown yet but it hasen't been driven yet.

Thanks

Yeah, that could mean you have a bad fan.

Measure the voltage going to the fan. If you've got a good 12 volts going to fan, and it is still spinning that slow I would replace it. It is most likely pulling excess amounts of amperage and blowing the fuse.
