oil pressure?

whats a good oil pressure my lt1 has an oil leak at the intake gasket and maybe more but thats the main one and i was wondering if this has anything to do with me not having that great of pressure it goes to about 40-42 at most while driving but then goes down a good bit if at idle after it's been running any input would be great thanks

rule of thumb is 10psi for every 1,000rpm. if your around 40psi while driving thats good.

The intake gasket leak will not cause a drop in oil pressure. Of course, unless all your oil leaks out and you have none to make any pressure. :eek:
