BBQ at stoney creek 9/11

who's up for a bbq september 11th at stoney creek? can't fill you in on all the details yet but it will be a must attend event. anyone with a vehicle that's rwd and has the 5 areas of modification should definately clean the cars up for this one....

should be a great time for everyone with a few special guests. spots will be limited as this is a special engagement so if you want to meet some important people and hangout with car guys like yourself let me know.

5 areas of modification? Exterior and interior.. I only got two areas. :-( But I literally live at the entrance to the park, the fork in Shelby Rd to go to the entrance of Stoney Creek is literally just outside of my subdivision. In any case, I'm interested.

edit: just checked and I work 8 to 3, so if it's still going on at and after 4pm, I's still interested

guys i'm not a judge of what's right or wrong...this is a meet/greet with something a little extra thrown in for a few chosen. shine up your rides and head out. i'll post the exact part of park and times when it's time. should be a good time though as we have quite a few coming out. if your hungry try to bring a little something as we won't have enough to feed everyone.

Well, after getting my work schedule switched around on the excuse of an English meeting from 10am to noon, I'll definitely be able to make it there. I'll be there, just post the time and the place. :D

I'd like to go but I don't have the 5 areas of modification, my vette only has engine/drivetrain, complete suspension and tires. I don't have any mods to the exterior or interior because they don't make my car faster. Oh well, can I still come and hang out?

john, you do have ext. mods. whats that thing on your hood? silly boy. and, arent those rims/tires an ext. mod? Id say so. besides that, you dont see too many breathed on vette's with carb's now do ya? how bout daily driver vette's that go 12's?

I seen a bad ass stock looking mid-70's Vette on Woodward last nite at the Shell station. I was walking by it then the guy popped the hood :eek: 406, super ram intake, pro-charger, 700r4, man what a sweet car that woulda been for this get together, and the thought never crossed my mind to see if the guy wanted to come to stoney :confused:

U guys Wont Mind if me and another Fbody enthusiast make an apperance. btw i wont be in my bird. he will be in his. but mines in teh shop and hopefully by saturday ill be pulling motor and trans.

Call Me crazy Call me what you want. lol, Im in the process of a SBC Carb'ed, Th 350, swap. into a 93 v6 firebird, after blowing rear end, then transmission about a mounth later. i decided to do everything, plus i just had the motor sitting around lol, was going to put in 77 firebird but sold it. but neway make a long story short. 500+hp before tuning, and jetting and exhaust, on motor. and over 7 grand into extra's hope to have car on road by mid october. and hope to turn 10's well at least 11's. but you guys dont mind if we join up with you at stoney? if not , let us know where at and what not. which part of stoney. btw mt vernon there is the most packed picnic area. so lets not pic that one. lol

Ok, next dumb question. Where's shelby township? I live in white lake which is 15 minutes west of pontiac. I have no idea where any of the forementioned roads are. :cry:

ok white lake. its west of pontiac. take m 59 till you get to m 53 take m 53 north. ull see exit signs such as Stoney Creek Metropark Second Left. which is the second 26 mile road exit, its 26 mile west. take that. stay to the left lane. not the one that turns at the light right over the overpass. but the one next to it. then ull see a sign for the entrance. its off on the left. its about a 45 degree off ramp that cuts off the east bound traffic. but they have a stop sign. go figure lol on a 45 mph road a stop sign. lol but yeah then stay straight. its 4 dollars to get in. btw Ill be there what time it start? me and The guy with the other bird. are suposed to put his Lca's on. btw it took me 2 weeks to get mine on cause i did like an hour at a time. but his should take about 2 hrs at the most. hes got a 99 i believe. mines a 93 but my birds finally getting pulled into the shop from sitting outside for a week. tomoro. to get the rest of the stuff welded i need welded. and to have hte trak pak finish installed. then its off to get the transplant of a lifetime. btw when i get it done. we all should meet up. lol its gunna be bad ass. N/A sleeper. but with the sound its obvious eh? lol muscle car sound like 60s muscle car. with that cam its gunna sound sweet at idle and loud as hell at WOT. ill be rolling in the truck. btw its also the first produced. i got photos on my site. www.geocities.com/hemigtx001 there are also photos of the bird. when i had it on blocks. in the driveway. how long everyone think it gunna take me to pull motor and put new motor and trans in? Can you meet me somewhere? I'm an idiot when it comes to directions. As far as dyno #s I have no idea cuz i never put mine on a dynojet and I don't know what's considered high on a mustang dyno :confused:

I just put mine on my 02 camaro last weekend. If a 99 bird is anything like my car it should take like 40 mins. tops.

the bbq is going on, what site it will be at is the hard one as they want 100 to reserve a spot and the chances of having a place big enough for everyone might be difficult. i will be attending to something through out the day but will returning back periodically. i'm going to give out 3 spot locations that will be backups in case we show and a particular part of the lot is taken.

i will post them tomorrow. if you show up around 1pm to any one of the 3 you'll find everyone. wish there was an easier way but a few problems poped up. either way we will be there, just might have to travel around a bit.

if anyone is leading a caravan or coming with more then a few cars pm me and i will give you a contact number to make things easier.

those of you who plan to eat/grill i suggest you bring a few things of your own, we will have somethings for people but this isn't a club sponsored event so i don't plan to foot the bill for everyone to eat. if everyone brings at least one thing we should be good.

if anyone who is familiar with the park has a suggestion or at least a counter on where not to go let me know, i'll put up the 3 spots tomorrow evening.

Mt Vernon. WOrst SPOT EVER people have to park outside the parking area on the grass by the walkin and biking trail. because its always packed. thats a bad spot. um there are a few good spots. all depends on what u want. like if u want water side or not. eastwood has a nice area. so does baypoint. but i dunno if it will be good enough. um theres not that manny great spots. but there are good spots. lol

lol i dont think most of us know what time its starting. or which part of stoney its goign to be at. lol. i take it the man in charge isnt goint to be on till a little later tonight to inform us all.

alright...we don't know what spot it's at until tomorrow when we get there (today) because they want 100 to reserve a spot. however, we will be somewhere and you will know it when you see us. very unorganized i know but it's the best we can do since no one in particular is footing a bill or backing this.

go to the maps section, you'll see an over view. since we aren't sure exactly what park we'll be at head to northgrove at 1pm if you haven't found us. we'll send someone to round everyone up if we don't end up there.

remember, this is basically a meet/greet setup. many will be bbq but if you plan to do so you will need to bring some food or kiss up to someone who has some. i personally will be there earlier then most taking care of some business but many will show up between 12:30 and 1. we'll use the northgrove section as a general meetup in the event anyone is lost.

I went at 1 pm, i must've been in the wrong place or something, i went to northdale and there was a nice Trans Am and a few Saleen and Roush Mustangs, I felt a little dumb even parking next to them. I drove around the park and couldnt find anything else. Well, if someone has any pictures of the thing, please post em, sorry i couldn't find you guys :(

well, me and my dad rolled through and only found the same 3 saleen mustangs. we were in a black trans am, but figured the mustang guys werent there for this, were they? course my dad is like a kid with a new toy and has to rev at them a little too. lol we drove around for a whole hour and 10 min.s before we had to come home anyways. the park is cool, too bad we couldnt find anyone. im sad too. :(

yeah, signals were bad in the park so it was hard to call people. i had a problem with my intake so i didn't get up there til slightly after. chris you drove by us at one point but we were shooting so i couldn't chase you down. most didn't show up til around 3 and many came and went all throughout the day. in the end it was a decent time though, we were there til the sun disappeared and went through over $300 in food.
