does anyone know if a steering wheel from a '00 camaro is direct plug and play with a '96 firebird....both have radio controls. just wondering if the control hook ups are the exact same?? thanks for any help.

Yes they are , The radio control plugs and the steering shaft hole are exactly the same . I would suggest using your existing airbag though . The pontiac airbag will install the same as the chevy one . Just paint yours ebony with some high quality vinyl dye .

one of my concerns was the airbag. will a airbag from a '96 just plug and play on a steering wheel from a '00?? thanks

I have had a 95 pontiac airbag bolted to a 2002 Camaro SS steering wheel . Wiring would be a non-issue since the radio control/horn wiring from your 96 steering column would plug in directly to the radio control harness in the 2000 wheel , and the air bag wiring issue would be moot because you would still maintain the current bag and wiring .

just switched the wheel. i decided to keep the stock firebird radio controls in the camaro wheel (silver controls instead of black). since the controls mount in a different way, i just cut some of the foam from the holes where the controls fit and they now fit fine. the camaro wheel is much nicer than the firebird wheel. i prefer the leather and the thickness of the wheel is awesome!!!
