went to APE and got the SS tuned. She put down 334 RWHP and 326 ft/lb at the wheels. Not too bad for some bolt ons. Maybe it will be good for some mid 12sec passes. :D

Got the ride tuned today...mavricki18 08-26-2004, 05:29 PM went to APE and got the SS tuned. She put down 334 RWHP and 326 ft/lb at the wheels. Not too bad for some bolt ons. Maybe it will be good for some mid 12sec passes. :D Timberwolf 08-26-2004, 10:03 PM so how much did you pick up with the tune? what were the before numbers? Mike94ZLT1 08-26-2004, 10:22 PM Those are damn good numbers.... Thats a Mustang dyno too. mavricki18 08-26-2004, 10:24 PM Kirk said it was running way lean when he first got it on the dyno so he adjusted the ratio befor he made the 1st pull he said he also made an adjustment to my MAF sensor because it wasent reading the air right. But after those adjustments he dumped more fule in and she gained 8 hp. Im sure if he would have made a pull in the beggining it would have benn a lower than 226 like it was the 1st pull. He also set my fans to come on earlier and the car is running about 10 degrees cooler now, got rid if stuped skip shift, egr, air and raised the limiter to 6,300 i think. 99TransAmWS6 08-27-2004, 12:05 PM told you thats what your problem was. mavricki18 08-27-2004, 06:34 PM told you thats what your problem was. yep she feels like shes running a lot better now. hows the clutch install comming along? if you need a hand give me a shout i put my stage 3 in my car. 99TransAmWS6 08-27-2004, 07:04 PM ordered the clutch today...should be going in early next week. QUASAR BLU 08-27-2004, 08:30 PM Kirk said it was running way lean when he first got it on the dyno so he adjusted the ratio befor he made the 1st pull he said he also made an adjustment to my MAF sensor because it wasent reading the air right. Taking the ported maf off and replacing it with a stock one would have got you almost where you needed to be. The ported maf leans the car out a bit. But you are better off now anyways with the tune adjusted for the ported maf. :) stereomandan 08-28-2004, 12:05 AM Congrats. Good to hear when guys care enough about their cars to get them tuned properly for their mods. Dan mavricki18 08-29-2004, 04:23 AM yea theres no point in adding more mods when the ones on the car are not right 1st. If i would have added the next mod (LS6 intake) he said it would run real leand and be dangerous. But now the MAF is reading the air right so it should be ok. Mike94ZLT1 08-29-2004, 10:56 AM Are all your mods the ones in your sig or are there a few that aren't listed? mavricki18 08-29-2004, 01:29 PM Are all your mods the ones in your sig or are there a few that aren't listed? thats all of it. Its not much but a 18 year old kid cant afford much making car payments, ging to school and working part time. I am just glad that mom and pops are nice enough to pick up the inshurance tab :D WHIPLASH 08-31-2004, 09:05 AM I think I saw you up at the Red Robin last night. Nice car if so. mavricki18 08-31-2004, 01:38 PM yep that was me thanks. i take it that the blue Supercharged SS was yours... thats thing has to be crazy fast. My buddy just got a vortech for his 96 cobra and that thing flys, a blower on a LS-1 woiuld be wild. WHIPLASH 08-31-2004, 02:18 PM Cool. I didn't know who's car it was or I would of introduced myself. APE did my tune also. Good place to get a tune, when he finally shows up to do it. Dennis mavricki18 08-31-2004, 02:34 PM Cool. I didn't know who's car it was or I would of introduced myself. APE did my tune also. Good place to get a tune, when he finally shows up to do it. Dennis yea i was the kid looking at you car with the camera. What do you mean when he finally shws up to do it? My i was scedualed to have it tuned at 9AM and he dident show up untill about 12 or so, he did a good job but a little but late. I guess they had a misunderstanding about wht day he was going to come in to tune. if you dont mind me asking how much power did you law down??? WHIPLASH 08-31-2004, 03:08 PM Mine too. I took the day off of work, showed up at eight, went to breakfast, came back, was ready to go to lunch and he showed up at 11:45. I got done at 4:30. Went yesterday to drop the car off to get my check engine light taken care of and he didn't show up. My wife followed me up there to drop it off. She wasn't too happy. Not too happy with that portion of their service. Birdie2000 08-31-2004, 04:20 PM I haven't had my car worked on there since back when Kirk and Rich owned the place, but I will agree that their timing/scheduling has always been an issue. Their quality of work is excellent, but they take way too damn long to do it sometimes IMO. Although, on that note, a lot of other shops in this area seem to be the same way... | ||
