These things are basically brand new. Put one on car (#5 cylinder) and ran it in the garage for about 15 minutes, then removed it. That one and one other one got dirty. I washed them and some of the ends inside the sleeve frayed a tiny bit. Running a needle and thread over it should take care of it.

I don't understand your question.

You slide the wire through the sleeve so that the plug end is at one end of the sleeve.

These are designed to protect your wires from your headers.
