v6 t5 the same as v8 t5?

v6 t5 the same as v8 t5?

i am trying to find a t5 to put in my camaro. i have a z28 with a 305. i have been tryingto find a trans for it for a long time. i found a t5 but it came out of a v6. i just want to know what the difference is other than the bellhousing.

There were many versions of the T5. The 6cyl one is not as strong as the 8. It has different ratio's to suit the lower 6cyl torque, and I believe it will not just bolt up either.

thanx, i know it will bolt up but your right about not being as strong. i have been researching it and the v6 t5 is only rated for 240 foot pounds of torque.
