Went to start my car and the security light was on, so I waited the 3 mins. or so, the light went out started it up. I checked the resistor on the key and it was 1463, then I checked the resistance on the connector with the key in the on position and it was anywhere from 1463-65 kinda changed every once in awhile. So where does this lead me to next? Thanks

nowhere, mine did the same thing acouple of times... Computer just didnt read the key right... It happens sometimes because parts are wearing out...

yes, dirty key or lock cylinder contacts are a possible culprit, or...it could lead you to believe the wires from the ignition switch/lock assy contacts (that "read" the key's resistor pellet) are about to break...which is what happened to me. The wires work harden/fatigue after a coupla bazillion turns of the lock cylinder & the wire strands start to break until there's only 1 strand left, which can raise resiatnce enough to trigger the light intermittantly. Once the last strand breaks however...game over. Since you've already done the research, get some resistors & wiring ready to jump the connector at the base of the steering column so you're not stranded when that last strand of wire breaks.
I'm told this is a very common occurence on our cars at around 100 -120k. Mine gave out at 110k. Judging by the number of posts about this topic, I'd say it's going to happen to virtually everyone sooner or later.
good luck
