I think I'll be heading up to the track this weekend, being a 1/4mile virgin, I was wondering what the best way of launching is.. I know shifting manually on an auto is just stupid.. but should I just sit at the line idling until green? or should I have the breaks on firm and rev it just before its green and let go.. ? Please any advice would be great.. thanks=D

Just pull up to the line lightly load the drivetrain to about 900-1000rpm. On the third yellow light go! Don't mash the gas all the way at the start you will spin, unless they did a good job of prepping the track. Practice Practice Practice.
Depends on the track prep on how well you will hookup. Once you ran, look at your 60' times, on the average for street tires you should be able to get in the 2.0 land.
Just put the car in Drive, shifting it won't matter the computer controls the shifting.

it depends how long he baby foots it. if you baby it too long it'll probably shift into 2nd. so either put it into 1st and then just put it into drive. or go out and practice on a backroad. i think you should be able to go higher than 1000rpm...maybe 1500. either way, good luck and have fun.
