i am thinking i need a new clutch. i have an 02 with 27k miles on it. shifts fine (never misses or anythign), but i have to push it all the way to the floor to engage.

how would i konw?

can someone also explain to me what a stage 3 and 4 are? i can't find anythign when i did a search and would like a good understanding. is that the only thing i would need to buy-what a bout the flywheel-not sure how that connects to all this. thanks alot. frank

Your clutch is fine. I think your master or slave cylinder is causing that disengaging issue you are having.

Master and slave cylinders are all hydraulic, if you have a leak (which would cause your problem) or if either cylinder is faulty, replace the entire assembly, like I did. Get yourself a Mcleod adjustable master cylinder, good investment for higher-horsepower engines, if your'e going that way.
Don't know what specifically your'e asking for about stage II's and III's, but the difference is about horsepower ratings. Each manufacturer has a different rating scheme too. Usually refers to Spec Clutches I-IV tho.

yeah, i was just curious what they meant with stage 2 and 3 but you answered it.
i hope the cylender is covered under warranty, something tells me its not!

That depends...Have you removed the master or the slave recently? Can the leak be a result of anything you have done or had done to the car? If not, then yes, it's covered under warranty.
