Rev limits and Hypertech question

OK, here we go: I've got the MSD-6AL for safety of cutting spark at the rev limit, but I've heard that you want the factory rev limit to be set way high. I've got a hypertech programmer (just for speedo calibration and shift firmness) and was wondering if I would be ok to set the hypertech rev limit at 6200rpm and the MSD rev limit to 6000rpm, would that still be safe??? What if I changed the shift points on the hypertech so that it shifts a little earlier than normal, maybe 200rpm sooner? Would that be smart? Make any sense? I ask because I'm running low on cash flow and really cant afford to buy a window switch or have a reprogram, I'm trying to make the best of what I have right now (NX kit, GenXII upgrade, MSD-6AL, 255lph fuel pump, colder plugs). I'm going to shootin the 150 shot through her, and dont want to hit the factory rev limiter.

I havent even got the juice hooked up yet, but I'm just wanting my first pass to be safe. Would this work, safely?

Quick question on a different note: Is the Granatelli fuel pump (255lph) the exact same pump as the Walbro pump? I think I read that somewhere, or are they all together different?

Thanks in advance!! Later.

Joe.

I don't see why that would be a problem. I would sent them close, just incase the MSD fails, you have the PCM to back it up. I have my PCM set at 6200 running a TNT wetshot. I have the window switch set to 5800 I believe, so you should be good with the limiter. IMHO I wouldn't set it sky high.

Joe, I have the answer to all your problems. Put the kit on my car, there that was easy:D . Later

That wouldn't be safer, that'd be less safe. You don't want the PCM to cut fuel because of its rev limit, period. I'd go with the original plan, moving the PCM's rev limit up high.

Without a window switch, you're still open to bogging the motor. I've seen it happen, and its not pretty.
