My ECM is telling me that I have an EGR failure. Should I replace it, or block it off? What are the pros and cons of blocking it off?

If I need to replace it, does anyone have a good one that they dont want? :D

Thanks, Thomas

You could try cleaning it with some carb cleaner first. Just remove the EGR valve and spray some carb cleaner in it and work the valve open and closed, it may just be sticking.

If you live someplace with visual inspections, you better try cleaning it/replacing it.

Good luck.

I think it's a pretty difficult part to see...unless they are really looking, they I don't think it should be a problem. I think it was a damn pain in the butt for me...one less thing to have to troubleshoot is always a good thing. Especially since they seem to fail quite often.

Now removing your air pump tubing is real easy to see and very obvious.
