i was looking at jegs for a strut tower brace, i found 2 good ones, the hotchkis which is a 2 point brace, but it looks awesome in your engine bay, and then there is the edelbrock which is a 3 point one, but its just black, and a basic design, which one has better form and fuction?

I have the Hotchkis STB and it two point design is solid. the three point ones which tie into the light sheet metal at the firewall do not impress me. The main purpose is to support the struts.

Light sheet metal? Where is that...
I have an edelbrock 3pt brace and am happy with it. The place it bolts on by the firewall is solid. I have heard a couple people have had the welds break on them, but it is very rare.

So you "have heard a couple people" of some problems with the 3-point brace. Just what in your vast knowledge does that support do on the firewall?? It dosen't stiffen the car because the brace supports the struts and all it does is clutter up the engine compartment.

a 2 point will not keep the strut towers from moving front to back and vice versa...so I would go w/ the Edelbrock 3 point.
dont like the way it looks? sand and repaint it to ur liking :)

I use the Hotchkis ,but to be honest ANY time you triangleate a square it makes it stiffer ,and that IS what the Edelbrock STB does. Now there has been debate as to whether or not it makes that much of a differance. Either way you go it will be a BIG differance. Just make yourself :)

i put the 2 point on my coilover setup and it was a must have item for that sort of supsension. as far as 3 pt. i don't care for how those look so i left enough alone. if i were racing auto-x i would think to have at least that but for the street/strip weekend car the 2 piece looks so much nicer and works very well. with my air ride i move the car around alot on the strut towers and i haven't had any problems.

When did I even say the 3pt is better than a 2pt? I think it is, but I never said that.
As for the firewall if you go out and look where it mounts the metal is pretty strong.
And so what if i've heard that the welds have broken a couple times, god forgive me for mentioning it...
I just bought this one because I got it brand new for $100 shipped :)
