What go-fast part next?

I have the 3 series posi and 3.70's waiting to go in. What should be the next thing to buy? A HSR or headers? I have some AFR heads but no cam yet, so I figured that I could get the HSR on in place of the TPI to give me a little topend and start tuning it before the AFR's and cam go on there. That way I'll have a little more topend to complement the 3.70's and a little start on tuning for when the AFR's and cam finally go in. I can either go that route or get some headers, probably going with SLP 1 3/4" headers btw.

What do you guys think?

I would get the HSR and headers. What sort of AFR heads and what displacement are you planning. Also, what injectors are you going to use? How is your fuel pump?

The fuel pump was replaced by the previous owner. I guestimate that it is about 5 years old maybe. They are AFR 195 heads - 68cc w/ 2.02/1.60 valves. I was going to try to get ahold of some LT1 injectors but if not, I was hoping to get by on my 22# injectors for awhile at least until they can be replaced by Lt1 injectors. This will be going on my L98 btw. I plan to eventually build a 383 though, so everything will be transfered over to it when I get it built.

well i have a 10bolt in my car and i am looking to get rid of it ASAP because i know that it will blow as soon as i hit the gas on my car from a stop

so if you have the cash i would get a rear just in case because you are putting a 383 in your car

This is why I have decided to build up the 9 bolt, while it is no 12 bolt or 9 inch, the 9 bolt supposedly is as strong as a dana 44. I am hoping the 9 bolt will hold up for awhile, it seems to be fine behind the quick TTA's and Big Block power (Miles at www.9bolt.com).

I'm kinda glad I got an Iroc with a 9 bolt under it, or I would be in a world of hurt when I start making some real power.

If I do infact break the 9 bolt, I will probably upgrade to a 9 inch.

Your probably not going to break it on street tires. It needs to hook to break stuff. The tires will just spin before something breaks.

I was probably going to get a set of drag radials though, since the 3.70's and 1st gear are pretty steep, either that or some big meats in back. Hooking in 1st will probably be a problem without one or the other.
