That is one hell of a car for $27k! I just saw in the paper this morning that they are going for around 28-29k up here.

Just watch! In afew months, '04 GTO's will be even cheaper. When the '05's hit the showroom.......they'll be giving those '04's away.

Add in my GM points....and who knows, I may pick up a Goat for the price of a Cobalt.

Holy crap, I should have held off on my Maxx for a GTO!! There are GTO's going for 2k off MSRP, and this was from the guy who had it marked up 1k.
27k makes this car a steal. Its depressing to see such a good car stoop this low.

It's not really because of the car though, it's August and they have too many '04's...and the word is out on the LS2 '05's. I'm not suprised. I'm in the market for an '02ish C5, but hmmmmmmm.

Re: Let the discounts begin!!

Thats getting close to what I paid for a 2600 mile demo- $25748. Of course I took the lease at $199/month for 24 months with $2000 down. I am getting attached to it and will hate to turn it in. At $21600, the residual is so high that I'll have to give it back. The 06s will be in leftover status in 2 years, and LS2 mods should be available then, so it could work out very well.

I know its not the car, I have driven the GTO many of times. My friend traded his pimped out Tahoe and he loves the car.

I told him to wait, but he said that he "doesnt need more power"....
Yeah, i smacked my head too.

anyway, 25k for a GTO.... wow. I thought the Cobra's price drop was dramatic....

I'm sensing a run developing on 2004 GTOs.

Re: Let the discounts begin!!

You know Ive become totally numb to what cars cost when you think I could trade in my trailblazer, use my gm card points, gms and get a GTO for not much more than Im paying on the TB. Not to mention it would be my beater car, which my non beater car has a blown up engine, primer and is worth less than the wheels on the gto
