Where to hook up an oil temp gauge sender

I have a 350 in my 88 camaro. The engine came out of a 72 pickup/van so it is a 4 bolt main block. My question is this-Where would you mount a sender for an electric oil temerature gauge? I really don't want to drill a hole into my new Moroso 6 quart oil pan to mount it. Just above the oil filter boss, there is a pipe plug that I am assuming is for oil pressure. I am already using the oil pressure feed on the top of the block by the distributor for my oil pressure gauge so can I use the hole by the oil filter to tap into for the temperature gauge? Thanks for any replies to this post. Paul Moore

The pan or the plug,it's a temp guage not a pressure guage. Pan is the best place ,but the plug works well also. The idea is to have the thermo couple imersed in the oil so it will pick up the temp of the oil. :)
