Hey guys

Just wondering how everyone's t56 is standing up to launching on et streets with a street twin.

Has anyone broken anything? What kind of 60' times are you getting? What RPM are you launching at? And how much hp and tq do you have?

I busted my stock Torque Arm. That was just on the only run I've had so far with my BFG Drag Radials. I pulled a 2.001 60' foot launching @ 4000rpm. It rained, and I couldn't go back and try @ 5000rpm. I'm sure I can get 1.8-1.9 60's with a little more practice. Maybe lower. :)

I sure hope I can get at LEAST a 1.8 with little effort on et streets with a street twin

Using ET Streets & 15 x 10 welds with street twin and 6k drops. I managed a 1.80 60ft on a 3 inch dropped ws6 (LT1). The launches were pretty violent with the car being lowered 3 inches ! Even with the airbag the car would still spin a little bit before it would hook. I never dead hooked the car, but I'm sure if I put stock springs back in the car would probably do 1.7's maybe 1.6's. My T56 held up to all of this until just recently and I had it rebuilt to Viper specs. :D

I would not worry to much about the T56. It can take a lot ! :)

I got down to 1.51 sec with mine on a high-performance street type suspension. I'd worry about the rear end (if it's stock) beofre worrying about the T56.

1.51 thats pretty dang quick! The rest of the drivetrain is fine, just worried about the t56.

only parts of the T56 you would prolly need to worry about are shift forks and synchros

like Timex watches, the T56 takes lickin and keeps on tickin ;)

the LS1 T56's seem to be more problematic, atleast the master and slave cylinder neway

i wouldnt be too worried about it. how much power are you putting thru it and do you powershift it?

im not worried about anything but the output shaft really. launches are the killer of these.

96 silver ram..just wonderin how much it costed u to have the tranny rebuilt to viper specs...did u do the rebuild yourself...where did u get your parts from?....i'm planning on rebuilding mine this winter it's got 100k miles on it..it's sweating like a pig...and i've got a 396 stroker in front of it(that's gonna get sprayed next season) and a 12 bolt behind it....so i think it's time to either rebuild or get a built automatic...i'd like to keep the 6-speed ..especially since i can do the rebuild myself..i just need info on gettin the parts

power is enough to run 105mph at elevation in a 3800 lb car. I might take the back seats and sub out to try to lighten it up to help the drivetrain!

Yes. I am considering going back to a T56 and if I did I would get the G-Force version.

Sorry I have not responded to this thread, just realized you posted something to me. I don't remember exactly what it cost me (been a long time ago). I can tell that Jordan Musser did the parts & rebuild for me here in Dallas, TX. If you need to get in touch with him I'm sure I can find his number. He really is a great guy and does great work.........
I have not had a chance to really pound on the new tranny setup since I got it back. I have not driven my car all summer. The tranny will get a major workout in the spring of 05 with all the new stuff that is getting ready to go on the car :D

Good luck with your tranny situation....
