TJS69 09-27-2002, 12:53 AM According to CHP magazine (Chevy High performance): Front: 15 inch wheel 3.75 backspace 7.0 width 225/55 tire 16 inch wheel 4.0 backspace 8.0 width 245/45 tire 17 inch wheel 4.0 backspace 8.0 width 245/40 tire Rear: 15 inch wheel 4.0 backspace 8.0 width 245/50 tire 16 inch wheel 5.50 backspace 9.5 width 245/50 tire 17 inch wheel 5.50 backspace 9.5 width 275/40 tire With air shocks etc. ??? angel71rs 09-27-2002, 08:01 AM I Fit 295-50-15's T/A's on the back of my 71 on a 10" rim w/5" backspace. I did have to roll the lips. It rubs slightly on big bumps, but if I had used an extra 1/2" of backspace, I think it would have centered better in the wheel well, and it wouldn't be a problem at all. I also borrowed a set of 275-60-15's (BFG drag radials) and they had a bunch of clearance using 8" w/4" BS. I went w/295's cause I liked the way they filled out the wheelwells. talos 09-27-2002, 01:04 PM ya im running 285-60-15.. BFG T/A and im fine as long as there is no ppl ridin in the back. stangitr 09-27-2002, 06:39 PM Thanks guys. I think I'll go with 275s in back and keep 245s up front. Capn Pete 09-28-2002, 11:16 PM There's a set of 275 60 R15's on the back of my dad's '73 right now, and they seem to fit OK (no rubbing anywhere). They're mounted on 8" Corvette Rally Rims --- not necessarily what we're going to keep on the car forever, but they're OK for now. On the front, we're probably going to run with either 225 or maybe 245 60's, mounted on 7" rims. I'm not sure how the car will be with people in the back, but I think that 295's would probably fit on the back of the car (may or may not require a little "finessing"!!:D) | ||
