at infineon i was seeing mach 1 hitting mid 14's. i was shocked but happy.lol...i dont know if they couldnt catch traction or bad driving. but i saw the ls1 Z's hitting high 13 and a few hitting 14. i was disappointed. 2 SS were hitting 13.3-13.2 and the cobras sorta impressed me. you could hear their blower from the stands. they were hitting 13 flat and 12.9. the best though was the Z06. this was the first time i got to see one run up close and it was hitting 12.6. thing has a pair of balls. and oh yeah the GT were hitting 14.5 all day. and the 5.0 were hitting 15's. just wanted to post this to see how it went. but damn that Z06 was fast.

Nope. Infineon dragstrip is at 15' elevation. Still could have had horrible DA if the temperature and humidity were high. For instance, Carlsbad raceway is only at 200' but typical Saturday afternoon summer racing is about 1500'-2000' DA.

We all know that cold air means good horsepower and on hot days horsepower is down. Density Altitude is a way to take the effects of barometric pressure, temperature, altitude, and humidity and then combine them into one compensation number. For instance, with my 1/4 trap speed at ~1700' DA, if I had run at 0' DA (cold day, not humid, at or near sea level) my trap speed *should* be closer to 117 mph.
