Southern West Virginia

Hi everyone, Anyone in here from the Southern WV area (Beckley here)? Or does anyone know of any open drag strips in the area, 3 within 50 miles have closed in the last year and a half :mad: Or does anyone know if there aer any car clubs (non-ricer) in this area?

i live in tazewell, va. less than an hour from beckley.
i sometimes go to elk creek dragway www.elkcreekdragway.com
the track prep is awesome and it open every friday for test and tune $10 from 5p to 12a or so.

Im also from Tazewell, Im in the military but ill be home the 25th to fight a ticket. 69 in a 55 on 460 near Wal-Mart in bluefield. Id love to hit up the track if either of you would like to get together!

Cool man, you gotta pm qck, and SS, I'm going to Morgantown for college on the 20th so by the time you get in I'll be gone, but maybe I'll come in one weekend and we can all get together or something

Just let me know when you all can make it down and I'll head out to the track :) The more CZ28.com members the better! I should be able to get a few more F-body guys to head out there as well.

Like said before The more the Better!!! How many more members do you know from the area?

I know of 6 other guys right off hand. rlax31 from off the boards here should be back at school this week... and he's been wanting to go to the track. Then I have friends with a '98 Z28 'vert, '97 Firebird, '99 T/A, '96 Z28, '85 Z28.

Hopefully we can get something worked out :D

if i dont have to work friday i will be there. the track is about 20 minutes out of wytheville, va. i would guess about an hour and half....

the weather looks good for tonight, i will be at elkcreek dragway at 5pm.

Had to work, the last week before I head off to college and I had to work til 9PM on Friday night :cry: . Oh well, maybe one weekend I'll come in and skip home and head straight for the track. Oh well, thanks for the help guys.

I'm not origanaly from that area but my wife and her family is. It is a beatiful place up there. We still have alot of family up there so we try to visit often. They actualy live 1 mile from Montcalm not sure of the road though.

whats your wifes name, i might know her...montcalm is where im from.

Her maiden name is Margaret Frankenfield, Her family that lives up there in Montcalm, their last name is Gills.

i know quite a few gills' from there, but her name doesnt ring a bell...maybe im alot older or younger than her.

As of right now it looks like it's going to be partly cloudy on Friday... any of you guys want to come out to Elk Creek this week (8/27/04)? Not sure if I'll be able to run or not but it'd be cool to meet up with even more CZ28.com members. I may even get a couple of 'stang guys from NC to come up for the show :D
