It's been a long time since we did some serious Bench racing! The SLFBA club in PA is looking to do a picnic in Valley Forge Aug 15th.

Any interest?

Unfortunately I have class that day. It's a "turbo" class and runs 6-10 Friday, 8-5 Saturday and 1-5 Sunday. Not exactly what I want to do with my weekend in mid-August but it is worth 3 credits!

I'd be interested but I'm on vacation 8/14-8/21 and won't be around.

Thank God they don't! I'm a horrible test-taker. This class is on Entrepreneurship so I have 2 weeks after the end of Sunday to hand in a 20 page business plan.

Hehehe... yeah, at 70K+, it still isn't exactly an LMC. (Low Mileage Club)

Actually I drove it yesterday to work. The quarry nearby decided to dynamite, which put a big dust cloud up and, yes, settle on the Trans. This was later followed in the day with a, gasp, thunderstorm, which we haven't had too many of lately. So the car looked pathetic with dried up dust-water spots and dirty streaks down the side.

But it's okay, Eric... I washed it real nicely before putting it back in the garage. I'll polish it tonight and everything will be back to "normal"... all cleaned up and no place to go.

hehe, I actually think I still have her TD recipe. I'll have to look for it. I made it last year for a party I went to and it was a huge hit.

I'm up for another picnic. But I'm afraid to say that I will be in the Silverado. The Project has no tags:(. Would you guys ever forgive me for showing up in a, t .... t .... t .... truck;)

I can bring some pics of an F-body:D

Project Z28, come over to the house before the meet and you can drive one of the verts over to the park.

oh... I don't know about that... Bri is hard on the rear tires. He's been known to leave "smoke screens".

Yeah it will be cool to get together again. Maybe we can do a cruise through the park? I wonder if there is a need to reserve an area if there's a bunch coming down.

The taco dip secret is out! And yes Ron, somehow it always seems to be a hit. You would think people would be sick of it by now!

8 oz. cream cheese
8 oz. sour cream
1 package of taco seasoning mix
Small jar of salsa
Small head of lettuce
1 bag of cheese (I use the "Mexican" flavored stuff already shredded)
Optional:
Small can of black olives (buy the sliced ones if you don't feel like slicing)

Soften the cream cheese and then mix it with the sour cream and the taco seasoning mix. Spread on the bottom of dish (pan, whatever you use). Pour salsa over it - not too much though - just an even layer. Cut up the lettuce and put a layer on top of the salsa. Pour the bag of cheese on and then the olives if you like and there's the taco dip!

Enjoy it!

I would love to dive a vert... but as Ron said I am known to waste some tread;). I do recall a few times leaving 1/2 of my tire on the ground where we were just parked. Driving somone elses car would scare me too much;).

Jacki!!!!! You know this is the internet! You cant post that here... everyone will know the secrets!!

Oh, wait, I'm moderator here... I can just change it myself:D

They're a great bunch of guys and I don't think they'd mind at all! The last picnic I went to I cruised in with my old 95 GT Vert!

And Brian - I figure people across the world are making a mockery of my taco dip trying to figure it out on their own so it is time for me to share. :D

Yes, Bob, I would mind greatly if you smashed our party. Just 'cause you got your car wreck is no reason to wreck ours... oh, you didn't mean that literally... sorry.

btw, I thought you would have gotten yourself a C5 by now, or maybe making a down payment on a new C6 with the insurance money.

12:55. That'll give us 1 minute to fly down the turnpike, and 4 minutes to go up rt23 to the Park.

I don't know, how about I "pick up" you all at 12:30 after the Fort Washington exit. Although this time, call me when you cross the bridge into Pa and not when you are at Norristown... ;)

hey ron is that the first rest stop on the pa turnpike??

eric:)

The first rest stop going westbound will be the one right before Valley Forge exit. It is after the Mid-County / Norristown exits. I usually come down to the Fort Washington exit and then sit in the first breakdown /pull over spot after there. It's about a mile after the Fort Washington exit heading west. It's really no big deal. I think it is easier and shorter for you guys coming up the Surekill anyway isn't? But if you are coming the long way, I could wait for you say around 12:30ish?

All ya gotta do is read the first post from John...

VF national park. Main visitors lot at 1pm on Sunday

Ron, Us jerze guyz will most likely head up 76 right to VF.
Do you know the back roads to cut over to 76 from 309? If you go down Morris rd you can cut across past the Quarry to Germantown pike. then the pike to meet us at the 76/476 interchange.... its a bit out of your way but I thought I would throw that out there.

Tim, the easiest way for you to go is to just take the PATPK to the VF exit. Take 422N about 3 miles and get off at rt 23W. That dumps you at the main entrance to the park.

Bri and Eric... I figure the 76 route was easier for you both.

Um, yeah I would head down the Blue Route, 476, and wait for yous at the cluster-fart of Conshohocken Interchange.

Unless Mitch666 can figure out where Chalfont is, ( ) then I'll just pull him straight across the turnpike to VF exit and catch up with you guys at the park.

Ron, I'm not sure right now. The forecast might be good but I can tell you it sure doesnt look that way. Everyting is still soaked here and the sky looks like it is going to open up any second...

Right now I'm thinking it would be better to sit it out and get some stuff done here at home. Liz went to the shore and left me a honey do list. My main reason for going was just to bring you the wheels... I dont even have an f-body to drive. Do you need them like today?

97TransAm
08-15-2004, 11:35 AM
Brian,
Nah, no big hurry on the wheels. Take it easy, and work on that "honey-do" list. That'll make the Liz happy and a happy woman, might mean a happy Brian... :D
Eric posted maybe a Tyler Park happening next month. That might be better, as I might get The Carol to stop by with the Tahoe.
'Till then, take it easy, dude.
