PacerX's Homework Assignment for You...
PacerX's Homework Assignment for You...
I have a homework assignment for all of you.
Individually, I would like you to go to a dealership and pick out a car to examine using the Things Gone Right/Things Gone Wrong format I provided previously. Alternately, list things in that format from a GM car you or a friend/relative own, or one you can just spend some time with.
If you would like, I will send the form to you in Excel format via email.
Please sign up for a single vehicle, or multiple ones if you have the time.
I'll collect up the data, cross check it with my observations, and forward it to someone at GM (I'll figure out who), giving you credit as the reporting individual.
If you're a friend of the General, or just a party interested in how to evaluate a vehicle for giggles, this would be a productive exercise to help GM know what to improve.
There is a simple rule relative to the evaluations:
If you find a problem, YOU MUST propose an engineering solution for it.
No bitching and then leaving things out to dry.
Keep styling out of the evaluation. We're looking for actual problem areas, areas where things are good and things that could be improved FROM A FUNCTIONAL STANDPOINT.
If you insist on evaluating styling, go buy a pink tie and figure out how to drink coffee with your pinky sticking out.
If you will take the time to do the work in the format an engineer or marketing expert can understand, GM WILL follow up. The Trailblazer shift **** is proof...
Maybe they knew about it before. Maybe they were going to fix it anyway.
But then again, maybe we made a difference. I know our evaluations of Camaro TGR/TGW were reviewed...

Re: PacerX's Homework Assignment for You...
I got dibs on the Malibu Maxx!! So far, no problems outside of it being a target for the local birds. GM needs to offer an automated 12 gauge shotgun to pop out from the back.
I am writing an review for GMInsidenews after I hit my 500 miles of break in some time in the next day or so.

Now, since the last time we did this on the F-car provided a few issues that GM had never comprehended, methinks this is still a worthwhile exercise. Here's your chance to be part of the process in whatever small way we can.
Would you like to help?

I'll take a copy.

Also, it's not a good idea to post a linkable version of your email addy here, (or any message forum for that matter) there are ways that 'web crawlers' find them and that's how you can get spammed. I'm not exactly familiar with how the process works, but I know that spammers do it.
Just a friendly heads up to people here.

Re: PacerX's Homework Assignment for You...
Problem is...I'm not an engineer. I would be no good at coming up with an engineering solution (unless you guys like to poke fun). However, I would love to help out GM in whatever way possible...
Let me know if I "qualify"
