well tonite i was hangin out at the local spot with 2 buddies of mine (with their 93 formula and 01 Z28). these guys roll in in an early 3rd gen camaro with a big hood some gauges and pure street tires...

straight off they walk on over and introduce themselves...then go on to say they've beaten up on some mustangs and everything else thats tried them on the strip tonite...one guy starts looking over our cars and proclaims that since the 01 Z28 was stock... (in reality its a H/C car with true duals  but it had stock 16 inch rims and street tires on it) they didnt want to bother racing it....then they looked at the 93...it sports true duals and a rebuilt LT1 with a cam....but since it had a primered fender (fire hydrant incident) they didnt want to race it either.... (keep in mind they pulled up in a 20 year old camaro...)

so now they come to my car...loudest by far (gotta love my exhaust setup), SPOTLESS (just washed and waxed today) with chrome wheels. it sounds like a BEAST, its got a nice big trans temp gauge on the a-pillar and its on drag radials....these toolboxes wanted a piece of it....they had no idea what kind of motor was in it and apparantly didnt notice it revving to 3K rpm in traffic on the way to the spot... :D

so i aired down my tires a bit, did a little burnout and launched the car fairly conservatively....i wasn't planning on needing all 110 mph of trap speed so i didnt bother going full bore off the line....it turned out i was right...

i gave these guys the shock of their life...i pulled 5-6 cars IMMEDIATELY and actually got out of the gas BEFORE an 1/8 of a mile even passed....i coasted through the 1/4 mile with the converter locked up in high gear at around 75 mph..6-7 cars ahead.... :D

so we go back to the meeting place and these guys couldnt even stand to show up after getting :Owned: what does piss me off is they weren't even man enough to pay up the whopping 10 dollar hoopty bet we put on it....i wasn't happy about beating on my car for a measly 10 bucks but gas money is gas money.....dousche bags....

at least i got the satisfaction of sending them home in their junker knowing it was a rolling piece of crap...(high 14 sec car at best)

Awesome!!!

I hate *******s like that. They give v8s a bad name. I once got schooled by a Civic in my old formula (dont laugh, it ran 11s) but the guy turned out to be a standup guy. Not all v8s are good guys and not all imports are dicks.

lol thanx....i think these guys got a little spooked when i got out of the car with a tire gauge and started airing down the tires and stuff....they really had no idea who they were dealing with.....the 3 of us have been streetracing (i mean real streetracing not light to light and roll racing) for awhile now....

nice kill. I love 3rd gens so I can't follow you on the "piece of crap" line, but I'd be pretty pissed about wasting gas on a cocky bastard. good job!

trust me i like 3rd gens too. the "piece of crap" stuff was about this particular car...it WAS a piece of crap...you would have had to see it to understand....it wasnt the clean, shiny 3rd gen we like to see if you get my point. for god's sake it even had the damn louvers on the rear glass!!!!

Eeeewwww!

Congrats on the kill. And if you don't mind, please kill as many beat up poorly running 3rd gens as you can find. There are so many out there that need that kind of wake-up call. Make them learn about the car and then make it fast. I'd love to see more of these cars running and looking better. THEN they can $hit talk all they want, and be able to back it up, like me :)

They're great! Boxed perimeter style like these SSMs are the only way to go. And yes, they are weld in. Very noticable difference both structurally and in handling capability. They also provide a much sturdier and more easily accessible lift/jacking point. Too bad SSM has been out of business for awhile. Spohn makes a very similar product though...

94ZRiCeKiLr - So how far did the rear tires stick out past the quarters? :)

thats why i use it all the time...makes people (including me) laugh...

Marc- i would have at least respected him more if they had stuck out, at least it would have meant he had the intelligence not to come at a drag radial wearing, stalled, geared bolt on LS1 with his car on stock camaro wheels and 225/50/15 dry-rotted radials....
