What kind of gas do you put in a 4th gen V-6 Camaro?

I'm sorry that this is such a stupid question, but I've been wanting to get a '96 Camaro (strangely I can never afford to buy one after I pay my rent... I wonder why? haha) but I don't know what kind of gas you put in one. It's a 3.8 liter engine with 200 HP so I'm assuming premiuim unleaded gas.

So which is it? Unleaded, Premiuim Unleaded, or Super Unleaded?

Should be just regular, all the Buicks have 3800's with 200hp and run regular.

You'll be fine with regular unleaded in it. :)

Is there a benefit to running premium rather than regular? Or is there no benefit at all?

No benefit at all if your vehicle doesn't need the higher octane. Basically it just boils down to a waste of money.

No, and it is worse than just wasting money. It is actually bad for your engine to run gasoline other than specified. The engine was designed for 87, so run 87.

Preach on, all you are doing is burning more octane than you need. I still chuckle at those people who are so performance minded that they put 93 octane in their honda accord. They are usually the people who buy the high speed blinkers and performance wiper blades to make their car go faster.

Ah, 87 octane, the perfect answer to a question I should have asked, thanks.

So the goal is 87 octane ::makes a mental note::

We have 95 octane at the pump and I see people all the time filling up their rice burners with it. Doesn't higher octane than needed gas lose horsepower due to a slower burn rate?

I rember a few friends in Highschool would put premium in every other time (whats the point?) no one had nice cars at the time

Also, I have a friend with a newer Cougar and she insists on using mid grade, I dont see the point, but she bitched that it doesnt run right on 87
