his mods were shorty headers, chip, and possibly cai. this happened last night, we were watching some other guys race for money, then while they were running he asked me if i wanted to go for the hell of it after they got done! so i say yes to see how my car pars up to an ss! he gives me 2 car lead, then we go and both of us get a decent launch and i pretty much keep my 2 car lengths almost the whole way,, maybe at the end it seems like he was inching on me! so this time he says we run normal. ok ,yup we can. this time i get the ****tier launch and he gets a car on me through first gear, and by 100 he puts another half on me!
i think i did pretty good for an almost stock lt1 with mods in sig. hope u enjoyed

Nice run. You should also know that you can't put a chip in any f-body past '95 I think it is when they switched to OBD 2 in '96. Also the guy is dumb for wasting money on his shorty headers since they will pretty much give him nothing over the stock manifolds. Good run none the less :thumb:

Actually, you can't put a chip in any of them newer than '93, as they switched from speed density to MAF, and also no removable prom unlike their predecessors. You can get the PCM reflashed, but not really needed on a car that stock. If it's an auto, you could play with a HPP and adjust shift points and cooling fan kickon/off, etc, FYI.

he siad he did sent pcm away or somthing of that nature , i just figured to say chip to make it easier! anyway his car runs13.4 on strret tires and with his system in the back and my car runs 14.1! after the race he said r u sure ur cars that? :D

thansk heavychevy! i got a low rpm miss and it seems like it struggles sometimes under wot. i ordered plugs and wires, but the guy that is gonna help me said he would prefer to do them while doing header install. so once that all gets done i should be able to hopefully egde him out! thansk again

shorties are an improvement on the stock crappy manifolds for the 98-00 model years. granted not as much of a gain as longtubes...but still...

i think it was 01 that they redesigened the manifolds to improve flow which all but makes shorties pointless on those years.

nice run....the street has a funny way of evening things out...
