1BadAzzGT 07-24-2004, 10:41 PM On the dyno :D Car is making good power but fuel pumps can't keep up. I'll be upgrading fuel system soon so we can spin it further then measily 6k. Here is the video for your enjoyment (http://www.josephgoss.com/onebadazzgt/timteal.wmv)
So, I got owned by the dyno
Cheers,
Tim

Thank you. Keep the LT1 and get the Cobra as well. I've always been very fond of the DOHC engine because (stock) they can rev a lot higher. However, with the SOHC engine and some internal mods like mine, they also can rev quite a bit.

can you bench race an ET for us? ;)

Nope! I will be going to the track once I upgrade the fuel pump(s). I suspect that traction should be interesting.
97WS6SCharged 07-30-2004, 03:28 AM Nice numbers. I'm guessing you're running about 12#s through the motor?

Yes 12#.
97WS6SCharged 07-30-2004, 11:46 AM Yeah, a friend of mine is running 12#s in his Bullet making less power, but more torque. :)
WildThing94Z 07-30-2004, 01:12 PM Nice numberst Tim. Hopefully this time it stays together when you take it to the track
1BadAzzGT 07-30-2004, 02:28 PM 97WS6SCharged,
Yes my torque #'s were a little off, however, I attribute a lot of the bogus #'s to being an automatic (at least that's my experience). Keep in mind, I'm making approx 12# @ only 6k rpm and my engine is built for much more rpm. We ran out of fuel pump so detuned it a bit and called it a day. Once the fuel pump(s) are upgraded, #'s will improve.
WildThing94Z (Pete),
Thanks! I have a feeling I'm gonna get thrown out... what do you think? LOL. I hope it stays together this time as well. There was nothing wrong with the last engine other then it being stock and I was already pushing the limits of the rods/pistons and didn't want to take any chances with stock stuff any longer. So... I upgraded to all forged stuff. Did you sell your car and everything else and get out of the game for a while?
Tim
LT1 B4C 08-01-2004, 02:14 PM Great numbers. I thought about supercharging my car using an ATI, but I'm pretty close to stock. With a supercharger, I think the best I'd get on my close-to-stock car would be about 350hp. How much hp do stock LT1s normally make with a supercharger? I've heard that about as much boost as I would want to go with in a stock LT1 is around 5#s.

I think you'd make better numbers then you're expecting, however, you have to remember that the tune is extremely important.

if i were you i would look for an '01 Cobra....A LOT of the '99s had a problem straight out of the factory and didnt make anywhere near the 320 hp they were rated at. Ford had a fix for them that helped a lot but alot of the '99s were never quite "right"....since there was no '00 cobra (excpet the R) the '01 would be your best bet (the problem was sorted out by then).

I had thought about it . . . and tried briefly, but I still have everything. Maybe in the near future I'll put the top end / new tranny back on the motor and re-install it. But right now I have not really made the time to play with it. I'd rather ride the Hog, or drink a beer on a nice day ;)
Maybe one day you'll see a black Z with PA tags in Glen Burnie tearing it up.

That's good to hear. Once you get that itch again, you'll be back into the groove. I thought for sure that I would just go ahead and buy my Z06 but I opted to stay in the game a little while longer to show what a little GT can do. :)
