Wow...just wow

What kind of 1/4 mile times does that kind of power equate to?

Im not even positive what its going in. that kind of power could put a car into the 7's though Id imagine.

W2W does it again.

Too bad it is not going in an F-body. :)

Wow...just wow

What kind of 1/4 mile times does that kind of power equate to?Assuming a 18% drive train loss, it would take 1650 hp or 1400 rwhp for a 3600 lb. 4th gen. tank, like mine, to run 7.99.

Load that into a trimmed down 3100 or 3200 pound car though, thats going to make a difference.

Too bad it isnt going to be in anything racing over here. Sounds like its going across the pond somewhere.

I wish I knew what it cost.

Probably more than any of us want to contemplate. :)

Awesome numbers though.

I'm not interested in building such a car, but I would like to know how much the owner paid for those 1560 hp.

The combo doesn't look exotic at all, im sure the price isn't too bad if you have the skills and tools to put something like this together! Nice results.

Holy crap I haven't seen you online in a while Guido! How's your car running?

Wheel to wheel built Ronnie Dukes, full street legal, all interior convertible that runs in the 8.5 range. Duke said in a GM High Tech interveiw his goal is 7s. Even his motor, blower, suspension in a no power steering, completley stripped, hard top Formula race car could go prety quick.

How have you been lately? Im getting ready to move up by Indianapolis. I wont be as far out in a cornfield as I am now. ;)

What did your motor cost, Stealth?

I'm pretty sure stealth/stealth2 only cares what the motor costs so he/she can bash it for costing more or putting out less power than a 632cid bigblock dual dominator motor from Jerry Bickel or something. Whoop-di-doo. With some carefull planning this motor could go into some Manaro or vette or something and the dude can drive it around at 10-15psi and 700hp, then turn up the wick and run 160mph in the quarter. Recall John Meany's vette?? He could probably get away with powersteering, a heater, a decent MPG when he's out of boost.

50K my ass. It doesnt cost that much to build that kind of motor.

to have W2W build it, and supply the parts it probably comes a lot closer though.

When you can do things yourself, it doesnt cost outrageous amounts of money.

I built A WHOLE CAR that was capable of 8 second passes (and it will be proven late this season) for under $50K. My old Dart block based SBC, with good parts, a full certified cage, fully built drivetrain to handle the power came in around $35K-$40K and the only things I had "farmed out" were the transmission and roll cage. The rest was built by me.

Is that 1500 hp? No, but it was a 101mm turbo away from it. (It had a PT88)

That was THE WHOLE CAR.

I sold the motor. Its in a friends car getting ready to be tuned by Lee Howie, and it WILL run 8's in a 3400 pound car very soon.

At least then, I can feel better about my rant here at least. ;)

Stealth(2). Lets take a cruise around CO in your LS1...wait....does it run right now? Lets take the BBC firebird...wait...won't be driving that on the street anytime soon.

All I'm trying to say is that its foolish to break EVERY LS1 thread down into $. You obviously have spent a great deal on your's, yet you bash it every chance you get? Weird. I say you put an SBC in the Camaro and then your crap with be justified. Remember, everyone's different......................turd.

I'm doing good man. Took old engine out (2k SOHC) so I could make more power hopefully without breaking the old stocker powder coated roads :) NO more stock stuff for me. I went to the forged stuff this time around and am starting with 13-15 pounds of boost. Time will tell how she does. I have around 400 miles on her right now and it idles/drives like stock although it's a real turd on low end --- top end is a different story with the billet blower cams. I know I know... still small cubes but I'm hooked on the modular junk hahahahaha.... glad to hear all is well and we gotta hook up again sometime in the future.

Cheers,
Tim

stealth is just pissed because DRE probably raked him over the coals to build his motor, and he wants to make sure that nobody ever paid less than he did for a 1000+hp LS1 motor :D

You know nothing about what's transpired between me and DRE on my LS1 motor. But feel free to post all the bs you want to at this site if it makes you feel better about yourself.
