Posted this in the NE region section but I thought it'd be good to post here too.

This guy on my350z.com has basically called out any stock f-body for a cash run. He lives in NE PA. His name is iceco1d on their site. Here's the link, you may have to register.

Hmmm. I wonder why they have to be stock?? Sounds like the guy is a little bit of a chicken sh*t to run one that's not. I call on all stock vw rabbits for a cash run myself.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. But I don't believe even a stock LS1 f-body would have a problem with a 350Z. They seem to think the 350Z is, and I quote, "bumping heads with the Corvette".

A stock LS1 would eat a stock Z alive. My sister just got an '03 M6, it's a great car, but I dont think it'd be much a of a threat to an LS1.

BTW: Is my350z.com a good, informative Forum? I'm trying to find one to learn more about the Z.

Wow, they're seriously delusional... the 350Z is a low 14, high 13 second car, at about 103 mph. Any stock LS1 Fbody should have no problem with a stock 350Z.

my car is stock :thumb: just ignore the lumpy idle and the shiny tubes on the sides of my engine. The heads have GM casting #s, does that count?

Anyone that honestly thinks they can beat an LS1 with a stock 350z is either a moron or a scammer. That is just stupid. Those guys are idiots anyway "i wont race unless it is for cash.... blah blah blah" I dont like to deal with them anyway. He is prolly spraying with some hidden system or ported manifolds and crap. There is so much plastic in that engine a nissan mechanic prolly couldnt find anything.

Those guys are just trying to convince themselves that they got a fast straight line car for $35k(about the cost of a track model). About a 14.0 car stock is not slow, but to claim that you run head to head with just about any LS1 car is nonsense. Not only that, as the speeds increase in any 350Z, their acceleration seems to taper off more than it should. Example- a guy I knew bought a 350Z six speed when they first came out. He was driving it home, and was telling me how it was so fast, and blah blah blah, and how he wanted to race me, because he thought he'd win. I had only bolt ons at the time, and an auto. So I said sure, bring your junk. We went from a stop, probably ran almost 1/8th mile two times, first time I beat him by a little over a car, second time I beat him by about a car. I didn't beat him by much. But right before those runs were made, we did a roll on the interstate. I beat him by almost 3 cars. I have the runs on tape, and the camera car got caught at a redlight before entering the interstate so he was a little behind us. You can hear the guys saying "I see the 350Z, but where is John?"

When I first bought my 01 z28 a few months ago, I was driving through Columbia Md and was at a stop light. A 350z pulled up next to me and the guy just looked at me. I "felt" him looking and looked over. He just stared. I just turned and watched the light. When the light changed he tried to take off and prove a point or something. I dont street race, but for some reason I floored it. At 60 he was quite a ways behind as I took an on ramp. They run a 5.9 to 6.3 to 60 and around 14.3 in the 1/4. I dont know where they get the idea that they can even get close to a vette. That site is pretty funny.

A guy i know in college station with bolt ons and a z06 cam (no headers) put down 361 rwhp in his 02 z28. Anyway he raced a local guy that all the ricers think is god and walked the 350z pretty bad. The 350z also had a 75 or 100 shot. Those things actually weigh alot. 3270#??

It just so happens that this guy lives within 20 miles of me. I'll see if I can get him to take the bait.

Yeah, thinking a 14 second car can kill a Vette or LS1 f-body is absurd. It makes me laugh though, I can't wait to pull up to one of these at a light.

Think about a street race like this:

Person A (in the slower 350Z) hits the gas. He's in gear and everything so he takes off as fast as he can.

Person B sees Person A take off. It takes him at least 1 second to throw the car in to gear and mash the gas. By that time Person A might be two cars ahead. Now lets just say the speed they were at, wasn't optimal for Person B. Lets say he's stuck in 2nd in a 2.73 car, when really he could go to 1st. He's going to be stuck in the gear for a long time, and Person A just kinda walks away. Maybe Person B has 3 people in the car and the air conditioning on.

Sure, at the drag strip, Person B might run a 13.5 @ 105 while Person A runs a 14.0 @ 100, but anything can, will, and does happen on the street.

Hmm, still no response. I guess the guy wasn't counting on someone having an LS1 close to him. There is only one Supra in the area that I'm aware of and if it's his I'm not scared at all. He got tires put on it at a friends shop and let's just say we went out for a little test and tune and I didn't have any problems pulling it.

How are they all so stupid?

I don't understand how someone with a car that runs 14s in the 1/4 mile would dare try to take on an LS1 V8.

Please someone take this guy up on this challenge and beat him down.

Anything over 1/3 throttle automatically cuts off the a/c in my car. Maybe LS1s are the same? Point taken, though.

What??? Mine never did that. Not that I used it much though. I have never heard that before.

Turn your a/c on hi. Wait for a hot day, shut the windows. Floor your car from 0-80ish and feel if the a/c gets a lot warmer.
