Ok Guys, I have the fileter and the Fluid.....6 quarts. Now what I want to do is change the fluid and filter. How long should I expect the whole procedure to take me???????
IM also gonna change 2 solenoids while im in there.

Should I expect a whole day thing???
and is 6 quarts enough?

Ok first of all I am going to guess that you have never opened or worked on a 4L60E before. As far as changing the filter and the fluid it should only take maybe an hour by youself, also keep in mind that you are only changing half of you trans fluid this way the only way to change it all is to flush it. What do you mean you are changing 2 solenoids? do you accumilators(shiftkit) I would not really mess with anything in the transmission until I have fully read a manual on it and even the I would not practice on my daily driver

He's changing the solenoids because he only has two gears just like me. Santana, let me know how it goes and if you get your gears back!

oK Finally!!!!!

I fixed my Tranny problem!!!!
Previously for like the past month I had no 1st or 4th gear! After doing some research on the web Thank you NAISSO.COM I decided to give it a shot and change both the 1-2 & 3-4 solenoids....... And like maginc I now have all 4 gears back. Apparently one of them was bad so the Tranny went into "saFE mode".
I also changed My fluid and filter while I was there and of course I also found out the tranny mount was ripped! :) so I changed that as well.

If anyone experiences anything like this ..........DO Yourselves a favor and spend the 3 bicks on solenoids and fluid and filter and save yourself a rebuild

Hasta Pronto!
