Kris Horton's Charger renders??

I know everyone here has seen these, does anyone know how close these are supposed to be to the final product?

Re: Kris Benson's Charger renders??

Anyone catch this:

"The new Hemi makes 345 hp and 375 lb.-ft. of torque with just 345 cubic inches, an iron block, one cam, pushrods and two valves per cylinder. It's every bit the equal of GM's Gen III (LS1)--all it needs is beautiful sheetmetal wrapped around it."

Do you agree with that statement? I sure as hell don't. Maybe in power, but the LS1 seems to be a superior engine to me.

At least he didn't say "Robby Benson".

Question Re: Kris Benson's Charger renders??

So Kris, was the render you did based on any inside info on how it would look, or did you just take complete creative license?

He probably went by what PHR wanted which was probably to take cuesfrom the magnum and turn it into a coupe

Re: Kris Benson's Charger renders??

The 345 Hemi is a pain to mod. The DCX computer, through the transmission retards timing preventing mods from reaching it's full potential. When the aftermarket finally catches up (Superchips), I hear that they can not compensate for the exhaust, intake and header mods I have done. I can't wait for Mopar to finally release their upgrade that will take advantage of the free flowing heads, intake manifold design of the Hemi. We (Hemi owners) need a lot of free stuff (like the LS1) to do on our engines.

For one, it the Charger will not carry on the Magnum, and other dodges, with the cross hair grill. The grill is to be more "open" looking. There apparently have been a few inside people to have seen that pic and say that doesn't look like it. Now if they showed the coupe or 4dr, I don't know, but a 2dr version is suppose to show up in 06 sometime.

BUT, rumor has it that something is suppose to be released very soon in relation to the Charger. Also, FWIW Dodge has gotten approval from NASCAR for the new Charger body for 05 racing.

NASCAR and Charger news.

Re: Kris Benson's Charger renders??

You know what gets me; Dodge IMHO is the worst of the big three for building anything. If the big 3 built toasters, I'm sure Chrysler's would have to be rebuilt every 100 slices of toast. I am a little biased, but in all honesty, I'd take a boring Ford over any Dodge.

The thing is I don't think the public cares what it looks like. Dodge's demand for their Hemi-powered shoe boxes lately has been insane. Its like they can't fail. Anyone who has seen that damn commercial with the dad showing his kid the Hemi... The American public seems to be in awe of this motor...

Dodge should just go buy a few thousand Rubbermaid trash cans, put them on their side, add 4 wheels and a HEMI (angels singing in background) they'd have a hit.

Until people realize that this Hemi is NOT the greatest thing on eath, I guess people will continue to buy Dodge's new look.

I for one don't dislike the new look, but I'm certainly not swayed by the new thing on the block.

I don't like the look of it in that second picture, to many damn angles for me.
