Ripped the yolk apart on my 10-bolt at the track!!

Hi,

I was just wandering if anyone else has done this. I was at the drag strip last night on a set of 275/45/17 drag radials, I only hook 2.0 60 foots cause I dont have enough gear (3.23s) to come out of the hole quick. But I dumped the clutch at 4000rpm on my first pass and it bogged really bad down to 2000-2500 as usual and ran a 13.06@108.7. Well I came back around and got back in line again. I went to do my burn out and reved it and dumped the clutch again and befor i could even get on the brakes the drive shaft was beating off the floor board. I thought the u-joint had let go. So I went home and got another drive shaft and brought it back, just to find that the yolk was destroyed. I had ripped the ears that have the tapped holes for the strap bolts completely off. One of the guys from the track was walking my way then and handed me my u-joint caps (which were in pretty decent shape) and chunks of the yolk and bolts. I was just wandering if anyone else had ever had this happen to them. Thank

Jeremy
