**Fo'gimme if this is the wrong forum for this

So I was waiting for a friend in his driveway yesterday to wash cars. decided i'd do a little interior mod, short and sweet... move the blank (where ASR would be) to the right and the camaro emblem to the middle, so it sits between the fog button and blank. Well, low and behold, in the blank, there is wiring and a connector. I would imagine this is for ASR? can i get an ASR switch from a stealership and then have ASR?

sorry if this is a dumb question, just curious. It's really wierd going from V6 to LS1... I knew the V6 inside out, up and down. it's like learning all over again.

i doubt it, it's prolly just the wire that goes to the computer, I bet the rest of the system isn't there. But it'd be cool if it was. I don't think that Chevy would let that go out of the door unchecked and unpaid for. :P

Yeah, it's probably just the wiring. On most new cars, they are wired for all the options. Cheaper to have just 1 wireing harness and put in what is needed. You may also have another connector near the battery where the indent in the shock tower is. This is were the motor for the ASR sits. It has 2 cables going to it. I fromt he acelarator, 1 from the Cruise control and then the final 1 going to the TB. More than likely there is only 1 or 2 going straight to the TB.

Just the wiring. Topic has come up before.

I did the same mod, the wiring is there, but the rest of it isn't and it'd be failly expensive to put it all in.
