I tried the Lt1 tech section but that is usually nothing but nobrainer responses... Anyway I just got the car back together from a blown head gasket and it starts right up it feels like its only running on 4 cylinders(and I think it is). I pull the rear 4 injector harnesses one at a time and the car does nothing as for idle change, etc. If I pull a harness from one of the front 4 injectors the idle changes, etc. It looks like raw fuel is being dumped out the exhaust as well. As for spark its there. My fuel rail holds pressure with out the pump on so I know an injector is not sticking. Im going to test the harness tomorrow for power, and if its not that maybe double check the lash on my rockers. But if its neither of those im stumped.
The car has a distributor in the rear of the motor now, so everything is pretty cut and dry. I checked the firing order, thats good!. Cap and rotor those are good! wires no signs of burns or hot spots. Plugs those are new. Made sure the distributor was not a tooth off. Check to make sure the rotor was still at 50 degrees before top dead center on #1 compression stroke.
My air/fuel is ok but its pulling about 20% fuel to acheive target air/fuel(so i know something is up).
Pretty much im sitting at, dont think its ignition related. If its not my valves being too tight(which I dont think they are) and not power related to the injectors what else could I check?
If you can think of anything im missing let me know. Everything else is good fuel pressure, timing on the dampner matches the program.
