Black6SpdTA 07-15-2004, 09:15 PM What do these trucks run? I know they were made in the late 90's and possibly 2000+, but from what my buddy at work told me...
260HP
340 lb ft.
What do they typically run?
GreenDemon 07-15-2004, 09:29 PM Depending on the year, it should be between a 15 and a 16, high 80s, low 90s. Good competition for a V6 Camaro, not much for a Z28 to worry about.
I'm sure some people will say otherwise, but it usually takes more power to get a truck moving, so 260 hp really doesn't mean much, especially when Dodge's new hemi truck is stuck in the 15s too. From a Z28 point of view, the only two trucks to worry about are Lightnings and SRT-10s. Other than that, most trucks will need nitrous or boost to keep up.

Steve Y 07-15-2004, 09:30 PM Slow. Those things are overrated pigs. High 15s stock.
Black6SpdTA 07-15-2004, 09:37 PM Sweet! He told me when it was stock he ran 9.X in the 1/8th. BS?
NOTE: He's done intake/exhaust/tuning since.

Yeah, maybe he ran 9.99 in the 1/8 stock. Maybe. Run him and show him his place in the food chain, below you. What is up with your times? Those seem mighty slow for your mods. Bad track day?
stereomandan 07-15-2004, 10:33 PM I ran a couple at the track last year. 15.9 -16.2 is what they ran
Dan
Beanboy 07-16-2004, 01:37 PM Those 5.9s can get some power real quick if the right mods are done to them...
Bristol 07-16-2004, 02:39 PM Agreed. With the "right mods" these trucks really wake up. Ive got a 2000 RT and they are dogs. No real performance mods done yet except dual Borla exhaust but tons of appearance stuff. I let the Z do the runs and the truck for cruising.

9.5 @ 75...maybe he has a V6 :)
An LT1 should run a 9.0 @ 79mph or so
Mtdewandal 07-16-2004, 04:42 PM Ahhhh, who cares what he has done to that R/T, Just line em up.
Antz97ZNJ 07-16-2004, 05:33 PM The sound great but there not fast, think I heard w/ a good amount of mods in the 14's

Hold up. My sig does not say 9.5 @ 75MPH....
I had 3 runs that night, it was when the car was BONE stock and my tires/clutch were crap. The best time I could muster between the 3 runs was 9.5 @ 72. I missed 3rd gear. The 75MPH run was a 2.3 60' and 9.6XX run.
Don't be hatin' :p
NOTE: Going back in 2-3 weeks with mods (CAI/Headers/Y-Pipe by then) and I'll get some real times.

We're not hatin'. We just wondered why your times were so slow. Was your clutch slipping? If not you should be trapping at least 79 mph, stock.

Clutch was slipping a little bit. I know I need plugs/wires. The guy before did them 2 years ago when he replaced the opti. I took the car right off the street, onto the track. No weight reduction, no air pressures, etc. I know I should still be trapping more. We'll see in a few weeks.
2K1SunsetSS 07-20-2004, 12:15 PM My old 97 Dakota with a 318(club cab/short box) ran 15.88 @ 85. I believe Dodge rated the 318 @ 220hp that year but I'm not positive.

That's right. The 318 got 230 HP in '98, I know because my dad's Ram has one. Just for the record, I think the most HP the 5.9 R/T had was 250. They're nice trucks though.
headingeast 07-20-2004, 11:06 PM there are quite a few guys around here who have they're r/ts inot the 12's and 11's......a stock regular cab is low 15s.......they sound badass stock, but they aren't too fast.......i just helped my brother-in-law pull a twin turbo 408 set up out of his r/t today......he just got it done and the exhaust needs coated and a new tranny is going in.......here are a few pics....http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jdustu/album?.dir=/Mail+Attachments&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos.

bennydodge 07-28-2004, 06:43 PM Those trucks run like they're tied to a tree. When my Challenger 340 was a stock smog engine it would pull 8-9 car lengths on one. It's a shame the sacred R/T badge has been dragged through the mud like that! They can be modded to run pretty fast though.
TQdrivenws6 07-28-2004, 07:17 PM I raced one once when I was stock, he had a 2-2.5 car lead because I wasn't planning on racing. As soon as I punched it, I was at his door by 60, and it got embarassing real quick.
97WS6SCharged 07-30-2004, 03:18 AM I ran against one with a Vortech who thought he was hot ****. He wasn't even luke warm.
