Wanna know what Dealerships really do???

ok...my friend works at my local GM dealership and has a stock 99 T/A Ram Air and all with a 6M...this dealership just got in a new GTO 6M and the manager has been talking shiot to my friend about his car...well this weekend he was cleaning his car after uncovering it for the first time in a month and decides to call up the manager and talk shiot back...so they take this off the showroom floor GTO and run it against his T/A 4 times on the 4 lane out front of the dealership...and it was VERY close but the GTO won the first, T/A second, GTO third, and T/A fourth...now you know what dealerships REALLY do with their showroom cars

I have been working at dealerships for 15 years, managed to become a service manager for the last 5 years, but recently quit due to the stress and long hours of manager. I can almost guarentee the General Manager of the dealership wasnt around when this happened and the sales manager that let that happen probably wont be there for long. I have seen sales managers as young as 27 yrs old so I can beleive this did happen.

Same thing goes for some of the porters that work for the dealerships. Some of tho's guys dog the hell out of the cars when getting gas or even just takeing them around to be cleaned.

Hey I was a Porter once when I was 18. I NEVER did any of that sort of thing!

The 4th gen hadn't come out quite yet (bummer), the RX7 TT's had just came out early as '93 models, there were some cool cars that year. For some reason my foot *accidentally* slammed the gas wide open on a customer's 454 SS once and it laid a couple nice black stripes about a block long on me....

I was a porter myself as well back in the day. The dealership I worked at would only let the managers take the hot cars off the lot for gas or whatever. As for the 454 SS, I had a 1990 model with a little work (468ci). They were very nice trucks for sure.

I think it all depends on the dealer. I worked at a Chevy/Lotus/Lamborghini Dealer outside Philly, and the shop foreman and I took out new Vette's ( in 97) and a few Diablo's on different occasions and beat on them preffty badly. I also worked at a Chevy/Subaru dealer in my present town, and we had Vette's and WRX's, and never took them out for a joyride because there were strict policies on that.

It was really cool, but the Lambo customers were worse than T.A.C.O.'s (typical a**hole Corvette owner) Awesome cars. Id be picky too if my car was 275 grand , but these guys were ******. We didnt feel too bad beating on their Lambo when they were jerks. Best time was when we took Mike Tysons blue Diablo Roadster out for a spin.....

Oh man I would have been scared like a lil bitch to drive Tyson's car. I could just see him THINKING his car was abused on and going crazy over it trying to beat that *** or something.

yeah, just imagine coming to work the next day, and seeing Tyson sitting in his car waiting for you, and saying (in funny Tyson voice) "Hey boy, are you the one who fu**ed up my Lamborghini?" :cowers, and starts to urinate:

Yeah I know what goes on at dealers. The reality is your car gets better treatment at the "mom and pop" type places.

These post are the main reason, my eyes never leave my car. I watch them get in, put it on the bay, work on it and pull it out to me. I don't care if they think I'm an ***, it's my car, not your toy.

My friend works at a chevy dealership, and they beat the hell out of their cars. They let me do it too. Every time they get a new 4th gen in he calls me and I take a test drive.

I dont know who beats cars up more, teenagers or dealerships.

Back in 1998 I brought my Camaro in for some warranty work (again and again and again and again...and again and again and again.....) for the transmission popping out of 3rd gear. The last time I took it there I left it with a full tank of gas. When I picked it up the tank was empty, the tires were bald and it looked like some ****er took it off-road. There was mud everywhere. (I'm gonna get explicit here since this still pisses me off to this day) So I calmly walked back into the service area, dragged the service manager out from behind the counter out to my car and attempted to shove his nose into it. He didn't care to explain what had happened. The cops were called. I got nothing but an escort off the property.

Lesson of the day: If you really really really care about your car (that you spent $30,000+ on) and some idiot beats the crap out of it....hit em harder!

Seriously though....I was probably wrong for the "assault". But that ****er deserved it. I've had a couple recall notices sent to me since then but haven't gotten them taken care of for fear of getting arrested or something...LOL
