rocker armsjasonss 07-12-2004, 10:43 AM trying to find me some rocker arms, comp shows some, with 5/16 or 3/8 guides plate which one does my car have its a 2000 or does it matter teke184 07-12-2004, 11:40 AM look into the yella terra pieces from thunderracing...they are shaft mounted in pairs, not requireing guide plates and are about $500 i think... i've been researching them too. jasonss 07-12-2004, 02:00 PM are those good rockers, do they have a good reputation teke184 07-12-2004, 06:07 PM i've been hearing good things about the yella terras SSpdDmon 07-12-2004, 06:29 PM I'm pretty sure stock is 5/16 in diameter. mrr23 07-12-2004, 06:40 PM 5/16 is stock diameter. i use the VHP 1.89 accelerated rocker kit. http://www.vincihighperformance.com/superwebdeals.HTML i also had them install their dual spring kit at the same time. here's the dyno results: hp graph (http://www.stealthram.com/familypics/formula/dyno911hp.jpg) tq graph (http://www.stealthram.com/familypics/formula/dyno911tq.jpg) this was with no tuning. this is on the 99 formula in my sig. teke184 07-12-2004, 09:14 PM that's alot of freakin torque!!! i kindda quickly added up what would be needed...and it easily tips the scales at $750  that's alot! mrr23 07-13-2004, 05:26 PM sorry. but, it wasn't alot of torque. if you look at the left side of the red graph, there is a spike. that's a fluke that sometimes happens. there was a 13 lbs-ft gain. that's why i put the cursor on the graph to show the real gain. J0HN D 07-13-2004, 05:46 PM I like the Harland Sharps. Greed4Speed 07-14-2004, 02:17 PM Out of the six 10 sec LS1's in the article in GMHTP, 3 of them ran stock rockers. Save that $750 and get you a cam, headers or something that'll actually help you. jasonss 07-15-2004, 09:03 AM this is a heads and cam car with headers, getting rebuilt, i was gonna put some good ones in because they have problems with needles being found in the oil pan Greed4Speed 07-15-2004, 12:58 PM Those cars I mentioned have heads and pretty large cams. They run 10s, that should tell you someting. AL SS590 M6 07-16-2004, 02:29 AM I went with the Comp Cams Pro magnum 5/16" guide plate rockers, primarily because they are the cheapest way to get adjustable rockers on an LS1. I'm running Comp 'r' lifters and they are fussy about preload. jasonss 07-18-2004, 04:07 PM which one's would be better the 5/16 or the 3/8 AL SS590 M6 07-19-2004, 03:04 AM which one's would be better the 5/16 or the 3/8 You have to match your pushrods. LS1s have 5/16 pushrods. | ||
