I was in the proccess of getting new wheels and tires for my car (getting rid of the stockers) and getting something like 18x10s in the back and 17x9 in the front. my question is will this setup fit on a 1995 trans am or is some kind of modification in order?? i wanted the best proformance for street/daily driving. whats your guys' opinion on this? too big? too small? perfect? thanks for the help.

As long as the offset/backspacing is correct, they will fit fine. The 17x9's will work with a 40-55mm offset. The 18x10's will need a 45-55mm offset.

Many people run 17x9.5's all the way around. Some of us run 17x9.5 front, 17x11 rear. A number of people have gone to the 18x10.5" C5/Z06 wheels. Each one is fine, as long as you get the correct offset.

18's don't offer a lot of plusses, IMHO, other than appearance (to some people). The thinner sidewall can hurt straight line traction, produces a marginally harsher ride, and exposes the wheel to greater risk of damage from potholes and curbs. The solid rear axle design of the F-Body does not provide sufficient compliance to take advantage of the improved cornering capabilities of the thinner sidewall, unlike a Corvette, with its IRS.

Not really a big difference from 17's to 18's, but you should think about the above points and get opinions from others. I have only run 17's.
