Copper head gaskets and oringed block decks????Black95Form 07-08-2004, 06:45 PM Is there a method of using copper gaskets and an oringed block without running into coolant leaks? Pretty straight forward question, opinions seem to vary. Expert engine builders please respond, you know who you are (MG, Bauers, etc.) Michael rskrause 07-08-2004, 07:01 PM Copper gaskets tend to leak. All the usual stuff that inhibits leaks will help, but they still tend to seep at best. As far as I am concerned they are a race only proposition, and in that case a little seepage is ok.
