i see that patriot performance sells stageII 2 5.3 heads, what kind of gains will i get if i bolt them on with a stock cam? also what aftermarket cam will go best with these heads? about how much power will i make? how much will these heads raise my compression to?

 

I'd assume by your screen name that you already have LS-6 heads? If so, I wouldn't go back to a LS-1 based head like the 5.3. In that case I would look at the Stage 2 LS-6 "style head they have. The 5.3 heads have shown gains in the 45 rwhp range with a mild 216* camshaft. A good combo to go with would be the 5.3 heads or the LS-6 style with the TSP 224/224 or the TSP 231/237 depending on how much power your looking for. Assuming you have all the bolt on's, I'd say you'd make around 410-420 rwhp with the 224 cam and about 420-440 rwhp with the 231/237. Compression with the 5.3's will be around 10:5:1 and with the 59cc LS-6's you'd be close to 11:1.

 

If hes got a Z06 wouldnt he make a little more power than that with heads/cam? I'd guess yes.

 

hi i dont have a zo6 vette, i have a 00 Ls1 camaro and iam looking for the best head and cam combination, which heads will be the best to go with the ported 5.3 stage2 or the ported LS6 stage 2 heads

 

I'd get the LS6 heads.
