Start Slow. Prep the block. Has to be bored magnaflux etc. Buy and old 350 4 bolt main bolt. Spend money when you have it. It all cost money. If you do not prep the block, your money is wasted. A 383 is a bored 350ci. No changes, just money, need to get a stroker kit. Don...

Most likely he's asking about fitting it into the car. He's thinking about buying an already built 383 from a 3rd gen. AKA old school small block 350. Anyone done this and retained the fuel injection? I think the biggest problem would be the distributor. It barely fits into the 3rd gen. LT1's and LS1's don't have a distributor sticking out of the back of the intake manifold. Thus no room fro one under the windshield. :(

The fit will be identical. But you'd still be looking at all of the machining and parts to do it right.

The outside dimensions will be the same though.
